+: Jason is extremely knowledgeable on sports facts and figures, and has a great passion for sports and talking about them. He's very good at bringing the populism and inclusiveness necessary in sports talk radio. He can talk about regular guy stuff beyond sports, which you need to do to humanize yourself to listeners and to navigate the rough patches of sportslessness that will come from doing a daily, year-round show.
-: Sometimes the passion for talking sports can manifest itself in talking too hurriedly and being generally scatterbrained, especially if he's flying solo or the fish aren't biting. And despite knowing as much as he knows, he can be rhetorically sloppy at times: too many "people were saying
x but I said
y" when people neither said
x nor did he say
y. Doesn't always choose his battles well on race talk; the stuff about Comiskey last week was downright embarrassing.
Overall, there's no reason he can't do well if he keeps his cool and leaves the Dan Bernstein Econo-Sized Bag O' Logical Fallacies in Chicago.
