I agree, the first episode is usually weak, my wife started watching at the end of last season (someone we went to college with was in the reunion episode) and she watched last night's episode and thought it was pretty funny. Then I showed her an earlier episode (The nightman cometh) and she saw the difference in quality. On the plus side, we are thinking of going as the nightman cast for halloween now.

the premiere was just OK. I agree with IMU that in recent years it's taken a few episodes to get going but they are running low on ideas lately. I think either this or next season should be its last. It's just time to move on.

i would love it if they bought my movie idea for them, though, "It's Always Sunny All Over the World", where they think they can do something like "amazing race" and trek the world, but wind up leaving charlie in russia and he thinks he's in outer space, trying to get back to earth. and they all try to save the global economy while they're at it. it'd be a stupid "european vacation" type of movie. right up their alley. a man can dream.

They need some new characters. They have run Cricket dry. Those 2 bro's are still funny because they are rarely on but the lawyer needs to take a hike.

I think they need to head down south for a few episodes before they travel the world. Dennis hating on rednecks, Charlie hanging with rednecks and Frank banging rednecks could be a goldmine.

tonight's episode was absolutely great. i agree with the notion that they seem to find their groove a few episoes in. i was very disappointed with the halloween episode. felt like they were trying too hard to...i don't know, be themselves.

this episode reminded me of why this is such a great show.

Why has Dee's face progressively gotten worse over the years? If you look at Season 1, she was pretty cute. Then she just kinda started to resemble one of the Roswell aliens. Weird.

And IMU, I'd say the show peaked at Season 4. It was downhill after the Nightman Cometh.

i actually think this show has been peaks and valleys throughout. seasons 1 and 2 were fantastic. 3 was uneven, and 4 had a few dry spots. 5 and 6 i thought for the most part were outstanding but still had some bad episodes.

i didn't see a lot of season 7.

i agree with IMU, too; next season should be its last.

I feel like this is the best season in a while.
