Everyone talks about how great he is. I always thought he sounded like Chip Carey.

Len sounds kind of like Kermit the Frog. Chip sounds more like a guy trying to do Announcer Voice.

I think a lot of the love for Len has more to do with being hip to advanced metrics or the rockin'-dads gimmick with Brenly than it does his actual broadcasting, which is boilerplate. When Chip and Stoney left in 2004, I just wanted WGN to simulcast Pat and Ron. I've come around on Len, but he's still A Guy at heart.

Do they begin next season with him back at AAA so he can further hone his catching skills? Or do they have him play LF and catch just 1-2 days a week for the less demanding pitchers and bring it along at the major league level? Questions....

No, you deal his fucking no position ass to an AL team that'll overpay for him.

You think it's dumb to question whether the Cubs will keep Schwarber in the outfield, send him to the Arizona fall leage after the season to develop as a catcher more, or even begin next season back at AAA to hone his catching skills? I think it's a huge decision the Cubs will face. I think they will play him in LF and catch 1-2 days a week next season, hoping he can develop into a full time catcher. That said, I think that fails and he winds up an outfielder and emergency catcher only.

I think an equally significant question for Schwarber is how he can change his approach against LH pitching. He's a stumbling grounder to short right field much of the time, and has a sterling .148/.220/.278 line with a .231 BABIP.

Rizzo was pretty bad against LHP and now he's fine against them. So maybe it's just growing into the role. But it's cause for concern.

It's not cool quite yet. Hipsters will turn on them sometime next year because everyone else likes them.

Joe and I will be like two old guys in the corner dive bar who have been going their whole lives but suddenly see guys in fedoras ordering PBR
