True, but I don't think interst in Manning is necessarily evidence that "football is king". He's the biggest free agent in the sport's history. It's not really a bigger story than the Pujols signing was when it knocked football off the front page during its championship season.

To add for Game 7 of Cards-Giants, a game on cable beat it in Bears-Lions.

7.3 for Bears-Lions
5.9 for Cardinals-Giants

Everyone loves baseball. If it wasn't for gambling, literally not a single person would watch the NFL.

If Not Boilermaker Rick was still alive this weak ass shit wouldn't fly.

Long time coming.

I don't have a shtick. That's you with your various personalities.

Further, let me point out the illogic of the great Darkside. He insists one can be a fan anyway one desires which obviously includes not watching or attending any games. And yet he uses television rating as evidence of the number of fans.

I hardly think anyone believes The Walking Dead is more popular than major league baseball. It might be a more popular television program on a particular day. Just as NFL games are powerfully popular television programs.

It's an apples and oranges comparison and that's all I've ever maintained.

Lets face it,the only way anyone gives a shit about the WS is if the Cubs are in it. THAT would blow the roof off the ratings. In season, the only MLB I watch (on my couch) are Cub games. Baseball is a local thing. Now for the NFL,I can watch Detroit vs. Clevland, etc.

JORR, you should watch The Walking Dead. It's a really damn good show, and has the desired nuance for slow-paced programming that baseball clearly lacks.

Guys, JORR is saying that The Walking Dead is more popular than MLB on the days that the Walking Dead is on. On the days that the Walking isn't being broadcast, it is not a more popular TV program than baseball.

World Series game tonight vs. an average weeknight NFL game between two smaller market, mediocre teams.
