I love it when Dan works the Burden Of Proof angle.

"This changes everything. Now, I know what you're thinking: no it won't. And you're right. But what if it did."

I wonder if cbs-chicago.com is going to extend its thesis-optional policy to all its columnists. I look forward to Larry writing about how the Bears need to make adjustments but actually don't and really it's pointless to prescribe a blanket policy of adjusting or non-adjusting without being in a position of power but hey sometimes it's fun to wonder but then again haven't we evolved past wishcasting? I met Lance.

Today has been a trainwreck. Marcus Lattimore did not come back for a victory lap. He was a sophmore last year so he wouldn't have been draft eligible. Also he suffered a knee injury last year (ACL I believe) so it's understandable if he wanted to come back to re-establish his draft stock if he was eligible.

Talk about blatant lying to push the narrative.

Edit: I still can't fathom how they possess Heisman votes.

SHARK really abuses the "needless to say" phrase. Oft times he misuses it.

OKC, Jurko uses it quite a bit up the dial.

Yeah, try not to let certain words or phrases become a crutch.

I wouldn't use Jurko as your barometer for the correct usage of anything involving the English language.

Well, he hasn't missed any meals since he retired either.

Any idea who we're getting to call Bears/Titans yet Sunday on the "NFL on FOX"?

That "victory lap" argument has always bugged me. I understand the basic premise that you risk forfeiting X amount of dollars by not going pro when you have the ability, but I don't like the assumptions tied to that premise. It's assuming that nothing "bad" happens in between the time one chooses to go pro and actually get paid (ie. not getting hit by a bus, shredding your knee in a pick up basketball game, etc.). Realistically, it's possible that bad shit is (or isn't) going to happen to you regardless of whether you stay in college for an extra year or not.

I don't know. Let's guess! As a game against a small-market AFC team, I smell the unmistakable stank of a Dick Stockton production. He'll probably call our offensive coordinator "Mike Tyson."

Dick Stockton, John Lynch & Jennifer Hale? That's a very real possibility, CH. Wouldn't be shocked if they're the ones we get.

Other possibilities...Thom Brennaman, Brian Billick & Laura Okmin or Chris Myers, onetime ex-Bear Tim Ryan & Jaime Maggio.

From Brad Biggs and ChiTrib...

10 f. The Fox crew that will handle the Bears-Titans game Sunday in Nashville is Thom Brennaman, Brian Billick and Laura Okmin.

10 g. Referee Terry McAulay and his crew will handle the Bears-Titans game on Sunday.

10 h. The Bears opened as a four-point favorite over the Titans on Sunday night at LVH in Las Vegas.

Lattimore wasn't eligible for the draft last year. He is a true junior.

By the way, when being blocked, Shea McClellan is fucking useless. Fire Phil Emery.

To counter that, you have just under four months, when compared to sixteen months if you stick around year, before one "gets paid."

Thanks, Beni. By the way, I think Coach Billick is supposed to join the guys Thursday.

There's no point in bitching about this show because they always redeem themselves.

No, true!

I understand their point of view for football and especially running backs where you have such a short shelf-life. A player should maximize their available money-making years instead of offering their services at an incredibley discounted rate (tuition, room & board, booster benefits) to universities.

But to gloat and tsk tsk Marcus Lattimore for returning for a victory lap? Absolute horsheshit as both B&B were totally uniformed on his draft eligibility.

I'm just getting frustrated with their increasing misrepresentation or blatant ignorance of facts to push their narratives. If they've outgrown the goofy gay sports show to become 95% "thinking man's" show they need to back it up.

Haven't you been listening? Defensive linemen are so fast these days, no tackle* can block them one-on-one!

*Unless the tackle were LeBron James, or something like that

And Laura's part of the Dial Global Radio team Thursday for Chiefs/Chargers. I'm sure Dial Global Sports and NFL Network are thrilled to have that game!

Yeah, that's an argument that really can't be countered. I can't disagree with it, I just find talk about it is irritating to me.

Can this really be classified as a "thinking man's" show when the boys spend 10 minutes giggling about how funny someone's voice sounds?

When he only watches Bears games and thus sees nothing but Julius Peppers and Gabe Carimi, I can see how he'd think that.

(are Bears fans still blaming Mike Martz for all of societies ills, or is that scapegoat now thoroughly scaped himself? Fire Phil Emery.)

Tannehill should be the permanent producer to replace Goff. He seems funny, adds something here and there. He's not black, but Bernstein thought he was for months, so that's good enough.

SHUT UP ABOUT DERRICK ROSE ALREADY!

Remember 10/30/12, 4:33 p.m., the next time Dan starts talking about Derrick Rose.

Hey Gottlieb, just because Texas doesn't have state income tax doesn't mean it's a better situation. They have some of the highest property taxes in the country plus they do half their work out of state.

STFU!

So after all that talk about how WHITE SOX ATTENDANCE was so low that the Sox wouldn't be able to afford anyone in the offseason and fans would have no choice but to watch everyone sign elsewhere (hey SHARK word up homeslice), they dig up the money to extend Jake Peavy. Glad we devoted all that time and poor-bashing to something that proved to be completely meaningless.
