You're the cranky old witch that hands out pennies or toothbrushes in Halloween aren't you?

No we get good candy and put it in a bowl outside. It scares me. Been up late all week and having nightmares and I know it's pretty irrational.

I'm the complete opposite of you than. I've been looking forward to this for awhile now. The wife wanted to dress up my son for Halloween and at first I wasn't in favor of buying a costume for $30 that he's only gonna wear once and probably than only for about 20 mins but now I'm looking forward to seeing the little guy dressed up as a monkey.

Also seeing all the little kids dressed up in their costumes is always fun for me as we have some very creative children/parents around here. I went to Sam's Club Monday and bought about $30 worth of candy for all the kids. Should be a fun day today.

Why do cemeteries have fences around them?

Because everyone is dieing to get in!

Why can't ghosts have babies?

Because they have halloweenies!

Not sure how to describe it. If the dog gets up and checks something out, having to let her out the last time or middle of the night, noises in the house, my kids will sometimes sneak out of their bed to scare me. They think it's hilarious. I can't stand gore in movies, seeing costumes in ads or things on lawns around the neighborhood might put things in my head, idk. It depends on what you think dreams are. I've had dreams 2 nights in the past week about someone Halloweenish trying to get me. Lots of my dreams are like that, but it's worse, and a bit scarier around Halloween.

Don't ever watch the Strangers. If you do, wear some Depends.

Good advice. That movie is pretty scary.

Just googled it. Thanks. Weird thing is, I'm not afraid at all when I'm walking the dog at night. And I don't ever think it will happen to other people.

my grandma always used to tell me never to fear the dead, it's the living you have to watch out for...and this is a woman who swore she saw a ghost while going to the outhouse as a kid back in the old country.

I have very vivid dreams as I have detailed on here before. As a kid, I used to wake up absolutely unable to move as a huge wolf with human features stood on its hind legs staring at me face to face as I lay in my bunk bed. That happened regularly. I was scared and in a semi awake state, which made it all the more believable. It obviously was a dream but it sure did not seem like it. I somehow learned to take control of my dreams. Eventually I brought Goofy into the dreams and he would save me every time by lifting my bed and carrying me away.

I dreamed that my mom was a Grendel's mom type of creature in the basement who was daring me to go down in order to kill me. That one woke me up around sunrise and I got a weapon and sat in a chair in my parent's room making sure she wasn't going to wake up and kill me.

My parents have caught me sitting up and talking in my sleep many times. I once dreamed I saw a woman in Victorian era clothes in my room. I cannot remember the substance of the conversation. She disappeared into the closet and i followed her. My parents awoke me digging through clothes in the closet.

Despite all that, I like horror. Gore doesn't frighten me in the least. I always figured that, even as a fat kid, Jason/Michael Myers always walked slower than I could run and if you ran in a straight line down an open street, they would never catch you.

Once again - it's "then".

Anybody that enjoys handing out candy can come to my house for the night. If we have less than 600-700 kids I'd be shocked. Little punks. They usually beat me home from work too - why the hell does T-o-T start so damn early???

All this tells us is that Mrs CIJ's favorite holiday is Halloween.

I went to a haunted house on Friday night with some friends. Before I left the house I gave the old lady 3 minutes of hell. In one of the rooms of the haunted house they had some kind of weird abortion clinic type of setup. The phantom nurse was screeming out "You're all fornicators. I can smell it." I told her, "yeah about 15 minutes ago, you have a very sensitive nose." A good laugh was had by all.

What do you mean start so early? It should go all day. Treat or Treating Hours is one of the lamest government creations of all time. That shit should go midnight to midnight.

Says the guy who lives in a condo who gets probably 3 trick or treaters on a busy year.

Actually, I'll be at the Bulls game tonight.

But when I lived with parents, this wasn't a big deal. Back in my trick or treating days, we would go till at least 9:00, and maybe a little later. My town this year is 3:00-7:00. That is some bullshit...

Shit

Ours was on Sunday. I was hungover, and hours started at 2. Damn kids kept ringing the doorbell, and I missed the pick 6 and game winning field goal.

Non-Halloween trick or treating times are even lamer. So dumb...

The lamest thing I've seen this year was something called a "trunk or treat" at the church down the street from my house...After further research, I learned that kids would go car to car and get candy from people's trunks. Kind of creeps me out.

Got about a dozen kids so far in the 2 hours I've been home. One hour left for trick-or-treating in the CR.
