I didnt see the first season so I cant compare but I like the show so far. Sort of a lot of different horror genres being represented.

Mass killer that cant be killed, aliens, torture porn and now zombies.

i have been treading water with this show the first couple of episodes, but this episode has me believing again. i like that sister jude is actually transforming into a sympathetic character when compared to dr. arden and sister mary eunice. any scenes with dr. arden truly bring up feelings of dread, he is bad news on every level.

good show.

James Cromwell is doing an excellent job.

Dr. Jude's character is driving this show. Jessica Lange is an amazing actress.

The Dr. Threatson twist really didn't surprise me that much. You knew it had to be someone currently known by the audience. The alien angle is still terrible and I hope it turns out to be something different.

It's still an entertaining hour, not scary, but entertaining for sure.

Anyone notice that first 4 minute scene was one camera, one take? Some great camera angles and very cool shots in this episode. Very stylish episode.

Nice to see Ian McShane as the deranged Santa.

McShane is a badass! That sob can play one hell of a villain!

James Cromwell also plays a great villain. Hes been really good on this show. Although i thought the were gonna reveal his character as Mengle during the Anne Frank stuff

Lange is definitely owing the show. She flawlessly took her character from hateable to likeable. Looks like Sister Jude is getting a taste of her own medicine next week though.

I also like that Sylar time travel...

2 solid characters are no more.

Jude has lost her mind.

Supposedly an easter egg about the direction of season 3 was in he episode as well, but I missed it.

yeah, surprising to see both of them go. that was a great episode though. i had my doubts at points during this season, but this season is turning out to be as brilliant as season one in my opinion.

SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT
SPOILER ALERT

This has been one of the worst seasons of any show I've ever watched, and I liked season 1 a lot. The only reason I'm still watching is to see if they somehow tie up all the random stupidity that the season has consisted of. It's like they just picked out of a hat a bunch of different scary movie premises. Aliens, a serial killer, a doctor who does experiments on patients, the devil, Nazis, and scary weird people who live in the woods. It also takes place in an insane asylum. There still is no consistent storyline, though they've at least started ending storylines in the most haphazard ways possible such as shooting the forest people, easily throwing the devil over a staircase ledge, and then just burning up the Nazi doctor with no real closure to his storyline. Killing the devil girl was the worst. It's the devil. She's throwing this guy all around the room and she has superhero powers but she gets beat by a girl who suddenly decides being possessed sucks and wants to die?

END SPOILER ALERT
END SPOILER ALERT
END SPOILER ALERT

It's a shame because this show was so different and unique that it should have been easy, but they bit of more than they could chew and it doesn't work.

I forgot this show was back from its Christmas break and just watched it today. How has no one mentioned the musical sequence? Fucking glorious.

I like it but I'm not enthralled as I was with season 1.

This season may be a victim of "Too Much Going On" syndrome.

good show, but it makes you wonder what the payoff is going to be in the last 2 episodes? they have streamlined the storylines a bit for the home stretch, but unfortunately the ones they streamlined were the ones i was most interested in!

In a way yes because they are going to need to explain this alien thing. But I found last season's penis biting ghost to be far more odd than anything that's happened this season.

Has the devil possessed Sister Jude or the monsignor? It had to go somewhere.

It went back to Hell. Ryan Murphy said he didn't want to have it jump again.

I'm not quite sure what to think about the double baby stuff. Also, it feels like Kit was in the asylum an awfully long time so it seems weird that he can just walk back into his house and pick up his life where it left off only with the addition of two alien-impregnated girlfriends.

And I find it funny that Lana can just walk out of the asylum and hop into a waiting cab but needs a court order to get back in. :?

I can't wait for the finale.

Mainly so this season can be done.

I watched this episode and it felt like there was supposed to be one in between the last one and this one. The jump b/w Sister Jude locked in solitary and then flash forwarding years at a time was far too jarring for a half in the bag viewer like me.

Also, how does no one notice that the person Kit was convicted of murdering is all of a sudden alive again. She's so alive she kills Kit's back from the dead second girlfriend and goes to Briarcliff herself. WTF!

This season's been just, not entertaining. I keep and will keep watching, but I'm not really sure why. When I see a AHS on the DVR, I've never been excited to watch it, usually it's my last resort.

I loved season one. I've watched every episode this season twice and whoever mentioned there's just too much going on is correct. So many interesting angles that they just didn't follow through (Devil Possession, Doctors Nazi Background/Experiments w/ Creatures etc.), the alien thing is just...lame for lack of a better word. The acting is still really great which is what keeps people watching, but the writers did no favors with this script. Nothing can happen in the last episode that wouldn't make this season a significant drop off from Season 1 to the point where the show might risk getting cancelled during or after Season 3.

i have found this season to be entertaining, but i dont think it has been able to reach the bar set last year. it has always felt like they crammed too many ideas into this one story. i think this season was loaded with great characters, but there is so much going it was hard to fit it all in. overall i really enjoyed this season, but if you are always comparing it to the brilliance of last season, naturally you are going to be disappointed. I just take it for what it is. Quinto, Lange, Cromwell, Lily Rabe and Ian McShane were all fantastic.
