Former Atlanta Braves All-Star pitcher Pascual Perez reportedly was killed during a robbery at his Dominican Republic home.

A listindiario.com report said a possible motive for the attack/robbery may have been the fact that Perez had just received his Major League Baseball pension payment. Local police are investigating.

Perez was 55.

In 11 seasons, Perez went 67-68 with a 3.44 ERA. He was an All-Star with the Braves in 1983 and also pitched for the Montreal Expos, Pittsburgh Pirates and New York Yankees.

While pitching for the Expos on Aug. 19, 1982, Perez famously missed a start while circling Interstate 285 in search of Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium. Two of his brothers, Melido and Carlos, also pitched in the big leagues, as well as a cousin, Yorkis.

What an embarrasing tidbit for his Obit. I was a big Melido Perez guy back in the day.

Was it one of the Perez brothers who through a near perfecto at the Cubs while he was with the Dodgers? I was at the game and the only guy who reached base was Patterson on a shitty infield hit. I remember it was a cold shitty day and I couldn't get rid of the tickets. I ended up going by myself and the fucker pitched so good I couldn't leave. Any of you Cub fans remember who it was? Maybe it was Pedro Astacio.

Carlos Perez?

I just remembered it was Odalis. I think they're all brothers, aren't they? Pascual, Melido, Odalis, Carlos.

They should be dragged to the town square and beaten to death with hammers.
