Just a few days after Hurricane Sandy left lots of rain, wind & destruction up and down New York & New Jersey, a handful of rock & pop stars will perform a special one-night only benefit concert TONIGHT.

The concert special, "Hurricane Sandy: Coming Together", airs this eve on the networks of NBC Universal LIVE starting @ 7P. Matt Lauer, longtime host of NBC News' "Today Show", will also double as host of tonight's benefit. Matt will be joined by New York's own Billy Joel & Christina Aguilera, along with New Jersey natives Bruce Springsteen & Jon Bon Jovi performing live from New York's Rockefeller Center.

It's also believed that Sting, Aerosmith and others will also take part in this impromptu concert, along with appearances from "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams & "Late Night" host Jimmy Fallon, that'll air simultaneously on NBC, Bravo, E!, Style Network, G4, MSNBC, CNBC, USA Network & NBC Sports Network. HBO is also airing this evening's special, as well as Springsteen's E Street channel on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio.

Funds from tonight's benefit concert will be donated to the American Red Cross.

You'll have to watch to see. Matt Lauer was on "The Dan Patrick Show" today. Aerosmith is a late addition. It was supposed to be just Bruce Springsteen, Jon Bon Jovi, Billy Joel & Christina Aguliera when it was first announced a couple days ago.

I always enjoy coming together with Sandy.
