Listed above is Dan Bernstein's latest column on 670thescore.com. If you follow this program, you know Bernsy's feelings about Penn State football since the scandal became front page news over a year ago. Here, Bernsy wants Penn State officials to get the message once and for all to "Stop Enabling". Something tells me it'll be one of the topics of discussion at some point this afternoon until 6P.

Also on tap...

*TBA: The SCORE/WBBM Newsradio/Bears Radio Network's Zach Zaidman-"Jay Day" At Halas Hall
*3:30P: "The Second Half"
*5P: The SCORE/PFW/Dial Global Sports' Hub Arkush-Answering Scoreheads' NFL/Bears' Questions

"Scoreboard Updates": Connor McKnight

With Terry's "two favorite words" pressed into service this morning to guest host Mac & Spiegs' midday show, TBA follows the guys @ 6P. The voice of the Kane County Cougars, Wayne Randazzo, follows @ 10P for the latenight SCORE. Les Grobstein with help from Adam Harris have "SCORE Overnight" @ Midnight this eve.

Everyone can now calm down and return to enjoying Bulls basketball: Dan has announced that Stacey King has "gotten the memo."

LOL Terry would rather have Brandon Marshall than A.J. Green.

Dan: "There's really no wrong answer." Uh...no, there definitely is.

I heard something before the last break about injured Bears' WR John Knox still unable to properly walk. He won't play at all this season, but is his career now over?

That seems like an odd position for them to take seeing as how they like to lionize almost any athlete outside of Chicago.

The automatic dismissal of Reggie Wayne is irritating. His supporting cast is even worse than Marshall, Green or Harvin. And he has single-handedly won a game compared to the other 3.

But you can ignore what's going on with Wayne in Indianapolis because he's old and short.

Maybe we should call him "Fork Knox" because you can stick a fork in him. His career is done.

I said maybe we should call him "Fork Knox" because his career is over. Stick the fork in him.

I think his nickname should be "Fork Knox" because his career is done like with a fork in his person.

They're reaching Cutler/Rose levels of defensive protectionism when it comes to Marshall. This Harvin discussion is honestly some of the dumbest, meatballiest shit I've ever heard in my life. Sure, Brandon Marshall's a serial abuser of women with a diagnosed mental disorder, but Percy Harvin yelled at his coach once and has missed some games due to migraines (?), so fuck that guy!

Terry: "If I have to win one game, I'd take Marshall over Green, Harvin, and Wayne."

I sure hope that one game is against the Titans!

Someone just called and asked if the Bears could exploit the Texans if they played a lot of cover-1, and his answer was basically "well, they can exploit any defense, as long as they recognize it, and block it, and execute their own plays well." Thanks, Dr. Football!

I'm leaving, for my own sanity.

If this show is the "smartest radio show in Chicago" then they'd look at the obvious conclusion here. Marshall is putting up great numbers, but he's a huge percentage of the total offense. The Bears offense, without him, was better last year prior to the Cutler injury.

Now, isn't it possible that NFL defenses have figured out that letting Marshall get his touches and limiting the other people on offense leads to poor production overall of the offense? Opposing defenses have mostly beaten the Bears offense, but the defense has been so dominant that it hasn't mattered.

...or we could just have "Brandon Marshall is awesome and Curtis Conway wasn't" talk.

Perhaps some of the grammarians here can help me out with this portion of Dan's column: "No matter that Paterno was behind the active facilitation of a child predator...". Doesn't the use of the word "facilitate" necessarily imply that Paterno was actively engaged in concealing Sandusky's acts?

I'm not a lawyer, but I've heard that if he were still alive right now, Joe Paterno would be facing multiple indictments, just like ex-Penn State President Graham Spanier & ex-PSU Athletic Director Tim Curley.

I emailed B&B about all the players on the team being the best in franchise history - I just got in the car and heard them talking about it.

Did they mention an email from Kevin?

I'll have to check the podcast.

E-mails are down due to server issues pertaining to the latest storm in the Northeast. It's actually snowing in areas where Hurricane Sandy hit a week ago.

Nah, not necessarily. If anything, a lot of the facilitation was kind of passive -- merely looking the other way to be "humane."

I'm trying to figure out what their deal is with Brandon Marshall. They're getting overprotective of him, yes, but at the same time they lash out at anyone who tries to mitigate his past issues: Oh no, you're writing The Brandon Marshall Article! So I guess he needs Dan Bernstein's support, just not Rick Telander's.

Yeah I did catch that today. Only listened for about a half hour of the show total though. When they started into that bit I was thinking to myself "What has Harvin done? I haven't heard anything besides that pot bust in college."

And of course it was just a bunch of grasping at straws. Him yelling at a coach.... once, supposedly. Him missing games due to a sinus/migraine. Him getting busted for pot at the combine. ....And that's it. It truly was a pathetic endeavor, even by these clowns low standards. And of course Terry blessed it with his "uh, um... yeah see I have heard, and again this has been out there plenty, but um yeah he's had... things. Mmmhmmm ... yep" at the end.

I'm getting closer to being done with this show and I'll just end my sports radio consumption at 1 from now on I think.

I could only give them 90 minutes before bailing. Why is it that any preceding article or interview was overblown or redundant but their particular brand of fondling is incisive, and necessary to the point of repetition?

A complete WYC.

I too am trying to understand this. This isn't quite the same as them defending Cutler because their defense revolved around how stupid and loudly obnoxious Bears fans are, this is entirely different. The contrarian angle also makes no sense because I imagine most everyone in Chicago (especially loud obnoxious Bears fans) agrees that Brandon Marshall has been a beast this season. Apropos of nothing, I wonder what their take on Marshall would be if he were white. The mind reels.

That's why their obsession over Brandon Marshall is so puzzling to me.

I've read several opinions from former prosecutors who doubt that an indictment would have been handed down based upon the scarcity of evidence presented.
