What a worthless column. Let me sum it up for you so you dont have to waste the pageview on that trash.

Holy shit, Asik is looking good this season. I can tell because I have looked at his box scores. He's averaging 13 rebounds a game. And the box score says he hasnt fouled much. Back in July I said it was dumb to keep him because of the contract and salary cap ramifications. Boy, I might be looking stupid for that one. But maybe I wont. Because the salary cap issues are still there and they still need a REAL. DAMN. STAR. to put next to Rose. Until that happens, nothing else matters. But maybe this Asik signing would have mattered. It makes me wonder...

Fuck man, that was the most wishy-washy article I've ever seen him write. I dont even know what his contention was in the article. He argued with himself for a few paragraphs and never concluded it.

Oh well. Possible uninformed Rockets talk today. Probable Bears talk. Certainly a bunch of other stupid non-topics will also be covered. Listen or dont.

A Deng-for-Kevin Martin trade would've been fine with me. Boom...there's your #2 scoring option. Too late.

I'm not sure we would be better off with that trade, although I'd be intrigued by it. Who's our best swing defender if that trade goes through? Jimmy Butler?

Yeah, Deng is a great defender and you'd miss that length, but GarPax needs to realize that it's also important to outscore the other team.

I think he knows that, but it's about how much of a trade-off you're willing to accept. The Bulls really need a guy like Deng if they are going to have a roster to compete with Miami, and possibly NY, in the near future. There's nobody else on the roster even remotely capable of staying in front of Melo or LeBron, or even still a guy like Pierce in Boston. The Bulls defense will keep them in any game and any series, as long as they have a healthy Rose, Noah, and Deng. I guess you can add Taj to the core now. With those four, the obvious missing link is a spot up shooter who moves well off the ball, which is Kevin Martin almost to a tee, but if they swapped him for Deng they would desperately need a defensive 3 with length who can rebound and hit open shots(Deng). I think it's easier to find someone with Martin's size and skill set(or at least 85% of what he gives you) than it is to replace Deng's size and skill set.

their career scoring numbers are only 2 points apart. lu 16, kmart 18. i guess the # 2 option everyone is looking for needs to be able to create his own shot. that makes that more attractive if it could have happened.

It's even funner if you imagine Dan's reaction to a caller daring to criticize a decision made by one of Jerry's Kids based on a sample size of seven games.

Dan just defended Jeffrey Loria and said he has the right to do that and business-wise it's not wrong.

Fuck you. It's wrong.

At this point are you at all surprised that that's the type of position he would take?

No, because Loria is tight with Bud, and thus with Jerry, and thus beyond reproach. Remember, it's your fault the White Sox have no money to spend oh wait they just found $40 million for Goober McRolltide never mind.

At least Spiegel gets it. Called it a Ponzi scheme. Maybe Dan read my post from two hours ago about how he's an advocate for moneyed sports interests and really wanted to take it to the max. Jesus. How do you even.

I don't agree with that premise. They rip Bud openly and freely every year and have been doing so since forever.

I'm not concerned with Selig himself so much as Loria seemingly being within Reinsdorf's unassailable power circle of baseball. Bud's a stooge.

That make sense, but I think Martin (or a player like him) fills a more urgent current Bulls need.

Also, imagine Deng on the Thunder. They would be a VERY dangerous team with Luol.

The Cubs leaving Wrigley Field
The "hockey is not awesome" crowd.

Maybe we should have a Curious Hair bingo game.

Ontario had to enact greenbelt legislation to stop Mississauga from eating the entire continent. Not that much sprawl.

I think it's more plausible that in taking such an unpopular position on a topic because it's going to ruffle people's feathers. Someone will call in and go into some histrionics about "the right way to run a baseball team" and Dan will shout them down for attaching sentimentality to a lifeless business operation. Rinse and repeat.

It's imposible to argue with someone who is unwilling to engage in debate. Sure Loria might have a right to move the team but is it morally right that he is allowed to do so? That's a conversation Dan closes himself off from in taking the position that he has.

Why doesn't the great journalist Dan Bernstein put on his 'Press' Fedora and go ask Lovie these questions that everyone in the world is too stupid or scared to ask?

Bernsie gonna Berns. Being really, really over-the-top about a throwaway line from Lovie regarding concussions. Dan's not wrong, but I'm waiting for him to cross the line with it and say something completely assinine like "Lovie needs to be fired for saying that" or some stupid shit.

I'd say that's right. Geographically, demographically, and culturally, Toronto is more their Chicago than it is New York. Just don't tell them that.

I'd say it's very similar except for their public transportation. The CTA and Metra easily outclass their shit.

Similar to Chicago the people are really nice, a bunch of good grub and the nightlife kicks ass.

The Expos sale was inexcusable. He gutted the offices. Literally. Took the whole staff. Even took the computers and staplers down to Miami. There was nothing left there. They had to wake Frank Robinson up from his nap in his MLB vice-president-of-looking-out-the-window gig because nobody worked there anymore. It was such obvious collusion to get Montreal out of baseball. Loria is scum.
