I should write a book about misery, suffering, loss, death, and disease. It would rival the Bible in that regard.

I'm sorry it took me so long to post in this thread but here goes.

Good to see IMU is still staying classy. Nice comment about Doug's Uncle there.

JBills I never really liked you but I never really hated you. If you need help man go get it. When you're at your lowest point in your life and you have no one to turn to, your true friends and family will be there to help pick you up.

Sometimes they blow.

Gold is cleansed through fire.

We are far more precious than gold.

If you have accomplished anything in life, than it came through some level of sacrifice.

We are in the boat we currently live in because of the actions of Adam, not Eve.

Actually, I embrace the concept of free will. Adam has to step up and take the hit for that one.

No sarcasm or joke or pulled punch in the following.

In quite a long list of mind-numbing dumbfuck posts on your resume, this one, in my opinion, takes the proverbial fucking cake.

Do everyone, including yourself, a favor and take the rest of the week off from posting anything here. Seriously.

Well, God willfully created man (by some accounts)...therefore by the transitive property, It's all God's fault. It's always God's fault. If God made you score the winning touchdown or win the Grammy award, he's also responsible for your stubbed toe and child rape.

It's like people who say Easter is the greatest holiday in the Catholic religion....really? Can't have death without birth...so, that basically cancels out Christmas.

Which is why Halloween is the greatest holiday ever...and also why the British have bad teeth.

The transitive property is based upon equality. While that arguement was used by Satan to get Eve to eat the apple. (if you eat it, you will become like God), humanity is not equal to God. Otherwise, Adam would have created himself. Free will, given to Eve by God, was exercised improperly when she, like all of the rest of us, thought that she could actually be equal to God. Adam made the same mistake. God makes us do nothing. It's never his fault. And sometimes there is cause, without fault.

Christmas is not canceled out by Easter. Some people believe the greatest day of their life was the day they were born, for others it is a marriage. or the birth of a child. One does not diminish the other.

The British have bad teeth from getting beat up by the Irish for centuries. We are a strange lot that is happy to get drunk and win a battle, while losing the war of independence for our selves while blaming everything on God.

You do sound like you have had to endure some terrible suffering in your life. I have found books by Kushner like "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" to be very helpful to me.

Man's Search for Meaning" by Frankl was enlightening too.

I like how you guys are debating a man made story. Ask Charles Darwin how man was created.

Go back to the kiddie table son. Ain't no conflict between evolution and the theology of majority of christian denominations.

We have things to discuss. Not here, not now, not interested, but someday. It would be most rewarding to be sure.

They aren't books that tell people what to believe.

They involve stories of how they both endured incredible suffering and turned the experiences into positive things for themselves and others. Frankl survived the destruction and death of his family at the hands of the Nazis and four different concentration camps himself.

It's not.

That's why 12 million copies of Frankl's work alone have been sold.
