You do sound like you have had to endure some terrible suffering in your life. I have found books by Kushner like "When Bad Things Happen to Good People" to be very helpful to me.

They aren't books that tell people what to believe.

They involve stories of how they both endured incredible suffering and turned the experiences into positive things for themselves and others. Frankl survived the destruction and death of his family at the hands of the Nazis and four different concentration camps himself.
