I'm still on the fence as to whether Teddy set the fire. I'm leaning towards yes and him being crazy. He's gonna stab Owen before the end of the season.

Nucky is in for a world of hurt if he thinks he can trust Means and Esther.

I think you are right about little Teddy doing something very stupid before the season is done. Nucky is
definitely looking at some serious legal trouble if his plan doesn't work somehow. Gyp looks like he is
going to hit the warpath soon and is just crazy and stupid enough to do some major damage even though
he is undermanned.

I suspect Teddy may be killed soon. Margaret going into the greenhouse with the shotgun foreshadowed it.

I did think Teddy was gonna be in there trying to light a fire again and Margaret would shoot him accidentally.

I have a feeling that Nucky will be banging Esther right soon.

Means is indeed a creepy character. I wish he wasn't historically-based so they could find an interesting way to whack him, but his story seems already written. (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gaston_Means) He is Sandusky-esque in his slimyness, but his bio reads like a movie on its own!

By the way, Stephen Root, who plays Gaston Means, directed this episode.

I havent missed Jimmy at all this season. Buscemi is owning his role. Love how he whacked the kid a couple eps ago.

Gyp is a complete lunatic. Looks like he's about to be unleashed

I'm sick of Margaret already.

Whats the plan for Harrow? His character has a ton of potential but seems to be wasting away this season

Van Alden slowly making his way to the crime side it looks like. Gonna be good

This season needs more Chalky and the Chicago mob though

I thought the exact same thing when Chalky and his creepy muscle showed up to scare the gay actor.
The Chicago storyline is wasting away. The episode with Capone was good but that storyline is dying on
the vine.

Despite the suspect portrayal, Eddie Cantor wasn't gay.

Not sure if anyone else noticed our friend Richard Harrow selling Guinness beer on TV?
I had to do a double take but sure enough it is definitely him. I am sure they will be
running the commercials all weekend during football, maybe tonight during the World
Series.

Yea ive been seeing this commercial a lot. Hard to accept him without his half face and soft raspy maniacal killers voice

Good episode last night. Still wish they would include more Chicago storyline.

Did you really have that thought, Panther? Man, you're demanding someone rigorous authenticity from a TV program. You guys are ruining this show for me. I haven't respected Nucky since Douchebag questioned why he didn't send a gasoline truck with his convoy.

I'm one of them dopes who assumes that EVERY Italian in the 1920s speaks the language.

AM I WRONG???

I don't think you're wrong about that. My great grandmother was named Mary DeMarchi. Apparently there was a stigma to being Italian at that time. Maybe it had something to do with bootlegging and murder in the streets. Anyway, my grandfather always insisted that his mother was French and that her name was pronounced "Di- Marshay". But my dad and my uncle remembered her speaking fluent Italian to the rag man.

Really good episode all around and wasn't expecting that explosive ending. Gonna be some major
fallout from this. Was curious if Rothstein and Luciano got away unscathed at the end.

Edit -- Also really happy to see the Chicago storyline move ahead. Torrio seems a little too content
not sure if he ends up handing the business to Al or if Capone takes it. Was fun to see Van Alden lose
his shit on the people in the office. Not sure how he gets away with everything and no one coming
after him for a murder, shooting and now burning a guys face off.

If you've ever been part of sales role play, that was like a fantasy scene. I was slightly dialed out, heading for the computer at the end. I told my wife we had to back the DVR up thirty seconds because Michael Bay directed the end. I love the Chicago deal going forward as well. If only that portion could become its own show.

YOu could see Luciano and Rothstein stumbling away in the background. I wonder if they are going to use this explosion as a way to give Lucky his famous scar? If I remember correctly, it did happen in New Jersey, but of course, it happened from a knife and not an explosion and its how he got his famous nickname.

As for Torrio, if my memory serves me well (and its been almost 20 years since I was a self proclaimed mob expert) I think he gives the business to Al and moves to Italy to retire.

This season has been great, but the one dark cloud that hangs over its head is that in the big picture, the hero of the story is a guy who is such a minor part of history compared to the sub characters he is up against. We all know how it ends in real life for Nucky, he gets shipped to jail and pretty much fades into oblivion. So, how are the producers going to reconcile the deadend Nucky is headed towards in real life vs the fact that he is the star of the show? Are they going to stick to the facts and have him come up the big loser in his upcoming feud with the NY gangsters? Or are they going to bend the truth significantly and make him a much bigger part of history than he deserves?

That seems to be the way they are playing it. He doesn't seem to care for the business anymore. Everything
relates to Italy in his mind. With Al taking over they could steer the show that way for a while and make it
interesting for a while. I see what you are saying about the historical element but they are still in the early
20s. In real life Thompson doesn't go to the slammer until 1941.

Torrio hauls ass outta Chicago after getting shot by the Northsiders and hands the outfit over Al. Been refreshing on the mob stuff lately :D

Sorry to see him killed. Really liked him as a character. On the other hand, can't stand Gyp. The whole "you looked at me sideways, now you die" mob character gets old fast.

I see what you mean but this guy plays an asshole about as well as I have seen on TV in a long time.

knew something was gonna get fucked up when Slater walked into the bath house. Figured there's no way they are gonna disrespect history and have Slater kill Masseria. Especially since they already set up the eventually killing by having Lucky and Meyer go into business with him.

Very good episode and sets up an all hell breaks lose episode next week. I am going to miss this show, it has been a
very good season after a ho hum one last season. Richard going nuts. Capone going nuts. Gyp going even more
nuts than usual. They are going to need a lot of body bags.

Although ratings have slipped a bit it was renewed quite early in this current season.
