I think we can safely assume that unlike Dan, Gabe Carimi appears to be terrified of large, athletic, black men.

That's about enough to get him cut. That's the worst "block" I've ever seen.

Harbaugh would cut him.

And probably shoot his dog.

Carimi has him by 50+ pounds. How the fuck is that even possible? Just horrendous technique and just outworked? So bad.

I think, in a more macabre way, it's a monumentally impressive physical feat that Carimi stayed on his feet as long as he did.

This whole transition feels like Mac and Bernstein are competing to see who can have the bigger case of confirmation bias.

Dave, Dan appreciates things on very specific levels that the average person cannot comprehend. Didn't you just hear him use words like "systemic" and "circadian rhythms"? That proves he's enjoying football the way it's meant, no...the way it demands to be enjoyed.

I wanna see how this show plays out. Dan was relentlessly gushing about how much "football stuff" was going on last night and how people were saying "such smart things" after the game. It'll be interesting to hear his take on the details of that "stuff" and those "things"

And Justin Smith (94) wasn't bad on that play either.

He said it "defies analysis." The things are so smart and the stuff so footbally that we can't even begin to break it down.

But if Jim Harbaugh is a sham of a coach like Dan says he is, and the Bears clearly weren't able to find their ass with two hands and a flashlight, how could this game have been full of stuff?

Bernstein always hates anyone who cites emotion in sports arguments. Yet, you have a coach who clearly uses emotion to motivate players better on the 49ers side. I'm pretty sure emotion is a big part of football. Only someone clueless like Bernstein focuses solely on the intellectual element as good, and craps on the emotional element, when most people recognize that you need both.

Abbatacola with quite the breakgown of Riley Reiff. He's not sure how many plays he played, not sure who he was matched up against, but he saw a few plays and his hands looked good. Him and Boers really break it down.

Dan makes maximum-smarm "uh, yeah, I think I'll take the guy with 73 career starts" comment. Kaepernick sticks it up his giggy. Dan responds with some BS look-how-much-football-jargon-I-know jab at Kaepernick's motion having "too much loop to it."

problem?

Nothing they could do. Bears were too sweepy. Who are you to doubt Frank Deford?

Meatball caller: go figure with all the black quarterbacks in the league, we get the only one that can't run.

Dan Bernstein:  that isn't funny

Hey, Ed Szyczkowski from Des Plaines, only one guy here gets to characterize black people as being extremely athletic, and it ain't you!

I was shocked when Dan didn't really go after the guy.

He probably realized he thought the same thing himself at one point. Jason Campbell: good quarterback, but not a STUD.

That might be the first call that contained both the term "mean streak" and a Frasier reference.

I love love love love love when some semi-coherent dope calls up and rambles about wide receiver screens and zone coverages and Dan says "just say you're angry the Bears lost" or "just say you don't like Lovie Smith." As if someone who called and said either of those things wouldn't immediately be needled for specifics and then dumped.

Dan's football "analysis" is reaching Arkushian levels of equivocation.

"Do you think the Bears should re-sign Lovie Smith?"

"Well, I mean...I would need to know who the alternatives were, and determine if any of them were definitely better than Lovie, so it's tough to say."

I'm going outside for a while.
