DC's subway system. Frequent service, clean, user friendly. Convenient airport station. And a guy returning to the airport gave us two metro cards at the station, saving us the $10 purchasing them would have cost.

I thought this thread was going to be about the Metro Theater on Clark Street in Wrigleyville-which is a great, intimate venue for concerts. But I'm glad your experience in public transportation use was a good one....

Maybe you should call Mac and Spiegs to share your thought on the Metro.

Aren't you the guy that made multiple posts talking about your visit to Pittsburgh?

I support this shoutout. It is a great system.

I only recall a single posting about a trip made to see the Cubs play the Pirates. The trip did involve things other than the Baseball games, including Golf at the 3 Lakes golf course (Not 3 rivers-kind of a weird name, but formerly named Alcoa and the finest public course in Pittsburg) as well as Kayaking on the Allegheny. But the trip was about going to see the Cubs on the road.

I'm not railing (pun intended) against the post because I disagree with it. The Metro system there may be outstanding...I just don't think I could ever get that excited about public transportation.

I'm sure the Metro is all these things, but riding it means that you're in Washington. Pass.

They have a great Iphone app for the system that makes it easy to get around DC by rail and avoid some of the worst traffic in the nation.

Two thumbs up.

So you and Elmhurst Steve have something in common.

I don't think that he is going to be comfortable with this.
