A friend who lives in Ohio was telling me about a local restaurant that every Thanksgiving has a family style sit down dinner for 20 dollars a person.

It's basically for people of all ages who don't have family or other people to go to for dinner that day. Not only do they serve a great dinner they have games and other family type activities.

I think it's a cool idea. She told me its always packed. She went the first 2 years she lived there. She had moved there from Illinois and couldn't afford to go home for Thanksgiving and hadn't met her husband yet.

There's probably thousands of restaurants in Illinois that do this. And pretty much everywhere.

Anywhoo, have a happy thanksgiving. Chew thoroughly.

I should have really been more clear on why I think it's cool.

This is basically making more of a together group atmosphere for people who don't have family or friends in the area to spend it with.

Holidays are the loneliest days of the year for people who are alone. Maybe some of these people if they go somewhere where there's a group atmosphere games are played minglers are mingling they will feel a little less alone.

People sit at tables for 10-20 instead of for 1.

There's been at least 10 weddings of people who met at these dinners over the years.
