Green Bean Casserole. I like a good garden fresh green bean that snaps. I have no desire to eat canned green slush with mushroom soup and something crunchy and cheese and god knows what else.

You're not eating a good version of it. Having some today with crumbled bacon(not fake bits) and some hams hocks thrown in to give it flavor. Also, GBC is either cooked too long or at too high a temperature, that it will turn brown and lose the flavor and color.

My buddy from Florida cooks a sweet potato casserole with marshmallows. Sweet potatoes don't need to be sweetened.

Agree. If it is prepared properly, which means fresh green beans, it's awesome. Bacon is a key ingredient.

agreed about the mini marshmallows. i go to my bro in law's parents house down in sandwich every year and they always make this sweet potato mush put in a half of an orange topped with marshmallows. it even looks disgusting. the first year i had thanksgiving with them i tried it to be polite...i couldn't get through the first bite.

Did they serve racoon too?
