Mark McGuire had a lousy batting average and lots of strikeouts, so I was quite surprised when the Cardinals made him their hitting coach. But he did a very good job as a hitting coach for them and last I heard was negotiating a big deal to go over to the Dodgers and be their hitting coach. Maybe it's not as crazy as it seems at first glance. At first glance....it seems pretty crazy.
