You know, jackass, most people who know me think that I'm pretty mellow, generous, willing to help and quite nice to them. I don't need positive reinforcement. I know I'm awesome without the need for some internet boob to tell me I'm a nice guy.
Why are you? you're the guy actively lobbying for his place in the goofy hall of fame here... you post in all caps thread titles to try to get attention that your posts themselves should generate were they interesting in the first place. But you're going to sit there, with a straight face, and say I'M the guy who has the lowest self esteem? That I'M the guy who needs outside positive reinforcement? Dude. Look in the mirror.

As for the thin skin, I won't lie that I want to be liked. I do. I want my good works to be appreciated. But I take my fair share of shit around here and I take it with a smile on my face. There are basically two guys here who gave me shit at the absolute worst possible moment and they knew it and I'll forever pretty much hate them for it. They know who they are.

But there's no "reason" for anything. I like who I am. I'm pretty damned awesome. I have a wife who fucking loves me. I have a decent job, a nice place to lay my head at night, and all the close friends that a guy like me could as for. I know who loves me. And the answer isn't "nobody". I'm very lucky to have the friends I have. I'm thankful for them everyday. They're great people, because they can look past my faults and love me for who I am.

I'm comfortable with myself. I don't need to scream my posts titles to get them noticed. Their content speaks for itself.

I'm a very happy person. I have a good life.

I spent the better part of two years downing anything and everything I could to deal with physical pain. Destroyed my family in the process. Nearly lost my job. Fucked up a nice thing I had going. Blew so much money that I wonder if I'll ever be financially secure again - and I don't remember most of it. Now I get to wake up and look at a crapload of scars. But the physical pain is gone - going on a year with no substances for pain - and I'm at peace. Have someone nice in my life, and I'm starting to feel like I did back when I was in my early 20s. So Frank, et al, go fuck yourselves.
