So, does it bother anyone that less than a week of powerball ticket sales raised more money than the red cross raised in a month for Hurricane Sandy relief?

It pisses me off that the Government cant run a clean lottery like "EL Gordo" on NY eve for $100 tickets and 300 people win $1 mill each.

How much money does Lottery generate for the government?
The prize is 550 million. There had to have been more than 550 million in sales. So I'm gussing here but I don't think that 100% of ticket sales are put into the pot.
On top of that, there's the income tax.
