This reminds me...I need to get some Bud and Miller Lite for my dad and step mom, who have possible the worst taste for beer ever. They won't drink anything but this shitty American pisswater.

Pick up some Lammsbrau from Binny's and pour it into a glass for them but don't tell them it isn't Bud or Miller. After they taste it and realize what a good lager tastes like they may change their tune.

Honestly, they are beyond hope at this point.

Maybe but the upside is you have a great beer for yourself to drink, and the remote chance they do like it and start buying better beer, you won't always have to bring your own when you go visit. Worth a try! :drunken:

Step 1: avoid going to visit.
Step 2: keep good beer in the house.

I'm having the Stone/Bottleworks 13th anniversary beer. Its got 13 grains and 13 hops. Its really malty but the huge amount of hops kind of balance it. idk.. this one may get better as it warms.

Go to your local Binny's. New Arrival. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale. Then thank me.

Making another run to Three Floyds in Munster this weekend. It's a shame they cut down the case limit to a max of two cases per visit.

They had this in Ohio last year and it was hyped by the beer store owner but I wasn't a fan. Get me some Kentucky Bourbon Breakfast Stout and we are talking.

When my buddy first discovered it working down there he brought back both. I like the Ale better than the Stout, but they both were outstanding

I love it when they barrel age beers in whiskey casks but I felt like this one had a little bit of whiskey actually poured in it at the end. It wasn't bad but I like my whiskey more subtle when its in a beer.

I'm with UMN on this one - I didn't care for it. I thought the same thing - bourbon + beer - what can go wrong?

Was lucky last week and found some more Zombie Dust at a Sav Way in St Charles. They had 1 6er on the shelf.

Pick me up a case of GumballHead. The hipsters buy everything up around these parts.

Had some Three Floyds Pride and Joy last night. Pretty good. A hint of hopiness, but very smooth beer. Easy to put down 3 or 4 before you even realize it.

Having a Sam Adams Norse Legend Sahiti. Not too bad. A little too heavy on the spices. Probably won't get this one again. 7% ABV.

Also had a Left Hand Good Juju. Different kind of summer brew. Liked it. Very smooth.

And tried my 1st Widmer Brothers: a Citra Blonde Summer Brew. Damn good. Had an almost slight grapefruit finish. Going to have to try some of their other offerings.

Widmer Brothers make some fantastic beers. Their Falconers Flight IPA is hands down the best IPA I have ever had. Not even a close second in the picture. (Please note IPA is different than a Double IPA like a Hopslam or HopJuice)

Just enjoyed a Great Lakes Brewing 'Lake Erie Monster' and it's a hop monster alright - double IPA and worth every penny.

Good seasonal stuff by Great Lakes. Pisses me off that it only comes in a 4 pack instead of a 6.

I tried a bomber of the 3 Floyd's Alpha Klaus Xmas Porter yesterday. It was damn tasty and I would highly recommend it.

Had a bottle of the Ommegang 15th Anniversary. Wife said it was the best beer she's ever had. I said it should be because it was 18 bucks for a 750 ml. Might get one more bottle and hang onto it. It was damn good.

+1

I had a bomber of Founders Bolt Cutter Barley Wine on Friday. Their 15th Anniversary 15% ABV. It was a bit much, even for me! Yowza! Could taste a little too much of the alcohol. I like Three Floyds Behemoth though.
