You Cub fans kept waiting for that to happen in 2012 and he just kept going out there every 5th game and throwing well more often than not.

Sox have a lot of arms. If one of them goes down, they can have young guys step in, or they have arms to trade to bring back a good return. Its $, but its a good move for the Sox.

Come on Frank, I know you like to screw with Cub fans, but I know you are not confident in Peavy's health over the next 2 years

Why wouldn't I be? If he was going to hit the DL it would have been this year coming back from that back injury. Now sure there can be freak things like turning an ankle while fielding a bunt or getting hit with a pitch that can hurt any player, but I think his arm and back will hold up fine over the coming years.

Wood and Prior had arm injuries. Peavy had a back and ankle injury. Try pulling at another straw, or try pulling you pud.

Actually they had various injuries over their careers, not just arm injuries. And, FYI, Peavy has had many arm injuries as well.

White Sox re-signed OF Dewayne Wise to a one-year, $700,000 contract.

Like it. He'll be a 4th outfielder/late inning defensive replacement if they can't find a way to move De Aza to left.

Cubs get an Assistant Hitting Coach, then the Sox get an Assistant Hitting Coach. Quit copying us. Learn to lose on your own!

Harold Baines had over 2800 hits. Manto? 164.

Most teams contacting Chicago about trades have asked about their pitchers, so if the team did make a deal, Hahn said the Sox would likely move one of their arms. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reported earlier tonight that Gavin Floyd the biggest trade candidate if the White Sox can find a cheaper pitcher to replace him in the rotation.

Of course he's the biggest trade candidate. Everyone but the dumbass Sox knows how valuable he is.

The White Sox selected INF Angel Sanchez from the Angels in the rule 5 draft. This is the first time in years the Sox have made a selection. Sanchez is a 29 yr old utility player with major league experience.

Cool. I don't think KW knew what the Rule 5 draft was.

He still doesn't. Rick Hahn does, though, apparently.

I think they just owe the Angels $100,000. If they return him, they get $50,000 back or some shit like that.

It is some minimal compensation. The draftee has to be kept on the major league roster the entire season or he is sent back to his original team so it makes it difficult to to draft someone for whom you don't have an obvious spot. I think the last Rule 5 guy for the Sox was that tall pitcher from the Royals who bombed in the same year every KW relief pick bombed.

Andrew Sisco was a rule 5 selection by the Royals from the Cubs. The Sox acquired Sisco in a trade with the Royals for Ross Gload. The last Sox rule 5 player was Jason Grilli in 2002.

Now that the Angels lost Greinke I hope Hahn made a call to Jerry Dipoto offering Gavin for Peter Bourjos. Then he can trade De Aza to the Reds for Mike Leake. Upgrade the outfield, wash in the rotation, the team gets a little younger and save some money. Bada bing bada boom.

No way in the world the Angels or the Reds make those moves.

The #WhiteSox claimed Zach Stewart off waivers.

Part of the Kevin Youkilis trade with the Red Sox that also sent Brent Lillibridge to Boston. That deal didn't last for either team as it turned out. Lillibridge finished last season in Cleveland after a brief cup of coffee there, and is now among the non-roster invitees for the Cubs come spring training.

The White Sox have claimed 1B Lars Anderson off waivers. He was once a big-time 1B prospect with the Red Sox, traded to the Indians and finished last season with the Diamondbacks. Needless to say, Anderson's stock has dropped big time since he left Fenway Park.
