It's an unpopular thought, but I agree. Now I'm not saying the Joker wasn't great, but I just like Bane better.

Would be nice to understand every other word from Bane.

And I needed the mask coming off from Bane!

Guess I will wait for ROBIN

Completely wrong, sparks ... completely wrong .... and I hope it's readily accepted that I'm not one of those creeps that thought 'omg heath's dead he's the bestest everything ever' people. Hell, I haven't seen Heath Ledger in anything besides Dark Knight or a coffin.

As far as (outside the movie world) Bane vs Joker, Bane is a more compelling villian for Batman, but the Joker is iconic for a number of reasons, mainly because there's far more one can write for - and about - the Joker character because of the Joker's omnidirectional insanity.

Joker should win most debate points running away; to propose otherwise is to either demonstrate an axe to grind or exploit an opportunity to just be contrarian for its own sake.

He said that Bane was bigger, stronger, faster and smarter. I dont think any of those things can be debated. The Joker is a better character but not a better villian.

In the concept of a villian, I can't decide. The portrayal of the Joker was quite a thing. For a story line though, I though Bane's villian did more for me than the Joker did. Dark Knight felt like a very emotional rollercoaster. Rises felt like a really good story with solid and believable (though sometimes indecipherable) characters. In the end, I think I would go with Ledger's joker as better.

Can we evaluate them based on their amount of jerkface?

I though he sounded like a drunk guy doing a Sean Connery impression.

In the movies, Bane was essentially a patsy, a tool, subserviant, someone not performing of his own volition but on the orders of Talia. Nay, not nearly as good a villian as the Joker.

This is a terrible thought. You couldn't be more wrong, B.

I know it got overblown, but what Ledger did in the The Dark Knight was nothing short of briliant...

Better actor, better character. Better story.

And Joker's Batman wasn't as much of a pussy as Bane's Batman was.

Joker killed Bruce's dog-faced love interest. Joker killed Michael Jai White. Joker set a big pile of money on fire. Joker dressed as a sexy nurse for dramatic effect.

Bane lived in the sewer...

The Joker defined the second movie. He outshined Batman in his own movie, and he didn't die.

Bane did a really good job, but it wasn't really about him.

I'm going to have to agree with Don, Krazy, Douche, and Boilermaker.

Joker was the mastermind in his movie. Bane was a patsy in his.

Under the proper hands, Drunk Sean Connery would be a great mult.

Yeah, it's hard to be the better villain when you can barely understand anything they say.

Tom Hardy does have the advantage in real life with not being dead I guess. But that's pretty much as far as it goes

Batman was 76 years old when he fought Bane. Batman had come out of retirement to fight Bane the minute he was 76 years old. Batman was always lying about his age. He lied about his age all the time. One time Comissioner Gordon came in here and sat in this chair. I said Commish 'you hang out with Batman, just between me and you, how old is Batman?' You know what he told me, he said "Hey, Batman is 137 years old." A hundred and thirty-seven years old!
