Hampton is just plain bad.

Yes he really is. Yet he is on every pre-game and post-game show you can find in this town. Does anyone who produces these shows bother to survey the listeners/viewers, or even pay attention to the quality of the product they are producing? It's so bizarre, especially in such a huge market.


The Bears better be ready for this one, on Sundee. Now, we all know, there are injuries. But, come Sundee, the bell's gonna ring, and it's gonna be game time. And, it's time to step up. I can tell you, thee Vikings are going to step up. That Adrian Peterson, he's gonna step up. Does anyone think, Adrian Peterson, is gonna feel sorry, for the Bear's injuries? If you think that, then, you better think again. The hen didn't just come into the farm yesterday. When game time comes on Sundee, you better be ready. Now, are thee Minnesota Vikings a great team? No. Are thee Minnesota Vikings a team that will just roll over, and let themselves get beat, in their own stadium? No. This is a team that wants revenge for what happened two weeks ago. And, come game time, the cows will come home to roost. Now, Lovie Smith, he better get the troops ready to play. Because, come game time, there's no going back. If Lovie Smith thinks that this will be a walk in the park, then he better think again. Has Lovie Smith gotten these players ready to play, in prior weeks? In some weeks, yes. In other weeks, maybe not. But, is it up to thee head coach, to get his players ready to play? No. If you're a player in this league, you have to want it. You have to be hungry. Hungry like the foxhounds out on the prairie. There's no other way. If you want to just take the field, and think you're gonna have a romp and stomp over thee other team, it's not gonna happen. Not in this league. And so, you have to find it within yourself, and dig deep down, and get this thing done. That's the only way to do it. Now, if you want to win on Sundee, you're gonna have to bring it, like this is a playoff game. Which it is. In a sense. Lovie Smith should realize that, his job is on the line, and, if these players don't come to play, on Sundee, then, there's gonna be a real mess on our hands.

I don't mind Hamp. Almost always agree with what he has to say. I'm 100% meatball and proud (at least when it comes to the Bears).

Listening to Hamp & OB after the game yesterday, Hamp is rambling on about getting off the bus running, how can they only have 18 rushing attempts, and other nonsense.

I flip to Koz and Memolo, Koz getting in depth about how bad the O-line is, how they are so slow and can't quickly pull and trap. Koz goes on to say that every D can sniff out the run and the Bears have no choice but to throw it 40+ times. Night and day from Hamp & OB.

Best Dougie quote in the 10 minutes I listened - "the point of the fact of the matter is the point."

In plain English, Dan Hampton was a Hall of Fame football player. As an analyst, regardless if he's on 670 The SCORE, NBC5 or on "Pro Football Weekly" weekends on Comcast SportsNet, he's absolutely atrocious.

I listened only briefly and Hampton could not get his words out without stuttering like a frickin moron.

Wow.

I don't know quite what to make of the (imo slightly over-hyped) Brandon Marshall postgame comments. Not judging his comments, I'm just curious what the actual context, behind closed doors so to speak, these comments are spoken in. Without that context, one can't be absolutely sure if the comments are self-serving, if they're meant to get him off the team, or if they're meant to be one voice expressing the opinion of some or many others. I'm sure we'll find out not too terribly far in the future, but hopefully they lead somewhere meaningful.
