The only thing worse than hurricane sandy is acoustic coldplay.

Michael Stipe looks like Billy Joel's younger brother that never brings a date to family parties.

Katie Holmes is still talking into the camera like she's being held hostage. I hope part of this Red Hook deal involves Taz suplexing Sudekis.

Just watched the McCartney/Nirvana song because curiosity overwhelmed my sense of better judgment .... imho, that wasn't bad at all, very surprised .... nice straight-ahead no-nonsense rock song .... perhaps not grunge per se, but certainly not the abortion I feared.

Also, fuck that honestly and truly worthless Caller Bob Courtney Love .... pretty much a standing fuck you, but deserves to be repeated again.

Musically, yes. Eddie Vedder would have sang it better.

So I'm up to the Who now. Daltry's voice is shot. Townsend can still sing harmonies like it's 1971...and yes Frank, Zack Starkey is a beast? A deep cut from Quadrophenia is an interesting choice for a second song of a small set at a charity concert...nice Keith Moon tribute, though.

The best thing I did was stop watching during Bon Jovi and record the rest of this.

I only tuned in for about 10 minutes and happened to catch the Eddie Vedder performance which
worked out well since that was pretty much all I was interested in seeing. Mac and Spiegs are
waxing poetic about pretty much the whole show. I think I would have been in agreement with
many of you in that it probably wasn't all that good and I don't feel like I missed much.

The Stones were brutal. Why anybody would pay $200 or $300 to keep hearing the same crappy songs is beyond me. They haven't done anything good in thirty years.

They've been doing a Quaddrophenia tour recently where they play the whole album, so it's probably rehearsed and part of their standard set right now. Same with all the Roger Waters "The Wall" garbage that he played.

Yeah, that occurred to me right after I hit post...my next door neighbor went and saw them do that a couple of weeks ago when they were in town. I saw them do that same set back around 95 or 96 when Entwistle was still alive...and Daltry could still sing.

It's nice to see a concert to help New York happen without them dusting off Paul Simon so he could drag the rotting corpse of Art Garfunkel on stage to miss all of the notes on Bridge over Troubled Water again.

The Nirvana/McCartney thing actually wasn't that bad. I was hoping for a Novaselic bass toss, but too bad I guess.

Bruce was good, and the Big Man's son can blow the horn.
Waters was ......weird. Terrible drummer, and the guy singing Gilmour's parts was annoying.
Bon Jovi was bloody awful. When did JBJ start with the weird ennunciating? "ON a STEEL HORSE-I-YIIIIIIDDDDDE"
And talk about having a new face? JBJ's grill was tighter than....well you know.
Stones were awful.
The Who were great, and I echo the sentiment on Starkey. And Pete with his "HAve a fucking beer" comment at the end was funny.
Alicia Keys was killer.
Clapton was awesome.
Kanye was interesting. I give him props for omitting most of the swears from the performance.
Chris Martin was endearing as usual, I like him.
Macca was great, Live and Let Die brought the house down, and I happened to really dig the "Nirvana" reunion.
NBC News' Brian referred to Pete Townshend as "Your uncle Keith Moon"- what a bag. :x
Billy Joel was pretty good.
All in all, good show on short notice.
My theory on why there were so many dinosaur acts is that the ticket prices were very high and the people
that could afford them aren't shelling out to see Taylor Swift or KAty Perry at MSG.
My one pressing question was where was Mr. New York himself, JAY-Z?

For that much money the fucking watch should dispense fresh dates on demand.

The saluting Keith Moon part was very strange. Like he died during the hurricane or something.

I'm thinking that JayZ wasn't prepared. You'll notice that most/all of the bands that played just toured, are touring, or are about to start touring.

So he forgot how to rhyme? Hell, a few Dr Suess books and he'd have his chops back in no time.
