I read a Supposedly Fun Thing I would never Do Again and loved it so recently for a trip I purchased Infinite Jest and to this point have found it to be kind of indeciferable and daunting. But I hear it is worth it once you get into it but I haven't been able to do more than like 2 or 3 pages at a time without noticing something shiny and having my attention wander off.

Try some of his short stories. Oblivion is my favorite collection. I like Girl with Curious Hair more than most people seem to; it's clearly inchoate in parts but not without its charms. Brief Interviews with Hideous Men never did for me. But yeah, I love his essays most of all. Consider the Lobster also has the 9/11 essay where we find out that DFW was a Scorehead.

It turned out he was listening to Boers & Bernstein when they did midmornings and would write longhand letters to Dan about sports talk radio. That I ended up having a David Foster Wallace screen name on a Boers & Bernstein message board is thus one of the weirder triangulations that I can imagine.
