I don't believe this at all.

Obviously you don't know about how not big Sabbath is in Bangladesh.

There's a ton of bad in their catalog.

That happens to bands that are around for the better part of 40 years. The first 6 albums or so are all killer no filler. And some of the Dio stuff is pretty good. The Mob Rules rocks.....

Another vote for Springsteen. Not big on U2, but I can see why people would like them.

-George Harrison's solo material
-John Lennon's solo material

Jay-Z has a voice that makes me want to punch him in the mouth, and his lyrical content is limited entirely to self-aggrandizement.

George Harrison's solo material is great. All Things Must Pass is a classic.

Now if you're talking about 80's George Harrison, then we can agree, but pretty much everything written in the 80's by 60's rock stars is complete garbage.

I have All Things Must Pass. I haven't been able to get into it like I thought I would- definitely not to the level of McCartney's solo stuff, at least. I know it's highly regarded, so I spin it here and there when I want to listen to something, but don't have anything in particular in mind (almost trying to force myself to like it more).

I also have The Concert for Bangladesh. Ditto.

Worked out well for Nirvana. So much of their material is indefensibly terrible, but you wouldn't know it from the absurd amount of fans they have to this day.

I think that may have certainly happened if they continued on. His death couldn't have come at a better time for
that band. I don't have their entire catalog along with stuff they have released recently that was previously
unreleased but Nevermind and In Utero were really solid albums and pretty much defined that whole grunge era
and sound. I don't listen to it much anymore but they knew what they were doing.

Bleach, Nevermind, In Utero and Incesticide are all great. very little filler at all on any of them

Live at the Paramount is a monster

Not a huge fan of the Unplugged set, but whatever

I'd like to get With the Lights Out eventually and the other b-side comps.....to me they have like a 95% hit rate

Not sure where the terrible material is at

I think the Unplugged CD is the best of them all.

All of their stuff is A+ material, just way overplayed. If I went the rest of my life never hearing a Nirvana song, I would be fine with it.

I don't think Nirvana's music has held up at all. The grunge era was like disco. Everyone loved it at the time, then it died a quick and horrible death. Now no one likes to listen to it, but some of the songs will still be on the radio.

I don't care for Jimmy Buffet, but I get why he is popular. I'm not a fan of Tool, but I don't have trouble seeing why people are. The one I don't really get is Metallica, mainly because if you like any there music at any phase of there career enough to explore whatever genre or idiom they are working in, you are bound to find a band that does it better and with more authenticity. Not even digging deep. They are never the best. They should never be someone's favorite band.

I agree. My college roommate would go on endlessly about how EVERY rock band that came after them is doing it because Metallica influenced them. He not only gave Metallica credit for all of the music they did, but pretty much all music with guitars.

Then again, he had a mini disc stereo system, so he was clearly an idiot.

Since every thread about what people like when it comes to music devolves into everyone shitting on each other's picks, I'm interested to see if this turns into people just saying what music they like...

Kill'em All was great. Everything else, meh.

Another band I would be fine with never hearing again in my life.

Rap. You talk and rhyme to a beat. Congratulations.

Katy Perry. Nice tits. cant sing

Nicki Manaj. Trash!

Bob Dylan. I dont see a shred of talent.

The Song- THE FINAL COUNTDOWN. Fuck I hate that song.

Taylor Swift. pretty awful singer and annoying. This is one I cannot understand at all. She's not even hot. Adele is painful to look at but she can sing at least.

I very strongly agree on all 6 points.

Have a lot of Johnny Cash. That holds up well. So does some of Conway Twitty's material.

Never understood the love of Garth Brooks though.
