After a one day break, Dan Bernstein is back to drive the "Boers & Bernstein Show" today. He & Terry Boers are in the home stretch of the "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" this afternoon at Baume and Brix, 351 W. Hubbard in Chicago's River North neighborhood. They'll have Bulls' tickets and a pair of tickets to "this Sunday's NFL game" thanks to Bud Light during the live broadcast starting at 1:15P-ish or so following the daily transition with Mac & Spiegs. I wonder what that "NFL game" is they're referring...

Continuing Bears' angst & anxiety as the countdown towards Sunday's rematch with the Packers will be front & center, especially in the wake of news that QB Jay Cutler suffered a sprained MCL in addition to a neck injury in Sunday's latest loss to the Vikings in Minneapolis. Although Cutler will start this Sunday, these injuries have to add to the angst & anxiety everyone now seems to have vs. Green Bay. The SCORE's own Zach Zaidman, also of the WBBM/Bears Radio Network, will check in at some point from Halas Hall.

Might the guys replay their interview with the Bulls' Joakim Noah during yesterday's show at some point? Not sure how much they'll discuss Noah & his hot start a day after a fun interview Terry & Matt Abbatacola had in the 3P hour. I wonder if they'll have a thought or two about the Lakers stubbing their toes again last night vs. the Knicks in New York, the Tigers keeping Anibal Sanchez after all, and the end of the Big East as we know it. The fun starts @ 1:15P-ish following the new Friday open & the golden tones of SCORE Production Director Russ Mitera's introduction.

The gravity of Dan crying is severely undercut by a ska-backed station liner and a CBS Sports Minute :(

Where was I telling how to processes anything, let alone a tragedy?

I will hang up and listen for my answer from the man on his pedestal.

Cool. Eat em and smile is a great album. I'll be on my way from this thread for the remainder of the day.

So the McCaskeys can be cheap because it's the family business and have this "culture," but the Rooneys can be in the same position and not be a terrible organization.

I don't understand their take. Are they criticizing ESPN for trying to be sensitive to the tragedy by saying it's not possible to do it or futile to try?

I don't get it.

I think they are criticizing ESPN for 'overdoing it'. Not allowing people to say shooting as a basketball term is a silly...

I don't think the sentiment is silly. I read the memo. It looks like it tries to make people aware to be sensitive of the things that are said and to avoid prepackaged segments that could be insensitive.

Seems like a nothing to me. Bernstein said they are doing the same thing. Whatever.

These guys are so transparent...especially Dan.

To show how non-fans they are of the Bears, they thoroughly suck off the Green Bay beat reporter like top-tier, six figure porn stars.

"Does Aaron ever throw a pick six?" Asks Dan with wonderment i his voice. "Cutler throws them all the time! Hehehehe!"

"Is Aaron as big and strong as he looks?"

"Green Bay is the best team ever, I feel so honored you'll even talk to us Chicago misfits. Can we blow you, Rob?"

I don't get Dan's take on this or any of his other anti-ESPN stuff, at least as it relates to corporate. Dan's the one always spouting off about "monetizing" and branding things, ESPN's brand is incredibly valuable and anything they say one way or another is going to affect how people view and consume that brand. So if Dan's tutt-tutting ESPN for being overly corporate, well that just strikes me as silly coming from the guy who spent the better part of August carrying water for Uncle Jerry.

Dan B. is the most corporate guy at The Score. He is ESPN. He wouldn't even answer questions here for fear of how CBS might view the answers.

I'm not criticizing. I'd be the same way. But, it makes it no less true.

He's a bully with no balls. He cowers like a child when faced with questioning from Tall Midget and bows to his corporate masters and then returns to the studio to take it out on callers.

The Green Bay cock gobbling was over the top and the concern trolling was way out their but the show was actually not too bad.

I only heard 4:00 to 5:00, but that wasn't too bad.

Dan's blubbering at the end seemed just a tad bit forced. Sorry Dan, but it's your own asswipe behavior that makes me doubt your sincerity.

I PTFB right when I got in the car and heard him say he just wanted to go home and hug his kids. Kids get killed every weekend in the city and he isn't blubbering about them on the air. When it's whitey in a small town on a mass scale it becomes another moment for mass public displays of grief from people not connected to the event. You should go home and hug them everyday you disingenuous knob.

Because those kids can just move to a better neighborhood that isn't Englewood you dummy. This is much worse because upwardly mobile white folks aren't supposed to be killed by other white folks.
