Every year in the United States nearly a half million children are tragically killed. The top two causes of these deaths are:

1) Car Accidents

2) Drowning

It's time America gets serious and does something about it. NO ONE needs a semi-automatic assault car, like this one:

Image

And no one should be able to buy, sell, or own more than a gallon of water without a permit and proper government approval.

Yes, the pro-car lobby will wail and gnash their teeth, and the NCA will have a hissy fit. But how long can a civilized, democratic society allow our children (and adults) to be maimed and killed by these cars and fluids?

Every year, 260,000 children are killed and 1,000,000 injured in car accidents. A significant number of these deaths and injuries are perpetrated by semi-automatic assault cars.

Every year, 175,000 children are killed and as many as 3,000,000 injured by water in high capacity containers.

When will we say enough is enough? Compared to the number of children killed by firearms every year in America - approximately 1000 - the car and water deaths are astronomical! Approximately 260 children are killed by cars to every 1 child killed by a firearm!

Stop the insanity NOW. Write and beg President Obama to make a law that bans the purchase, sale, and ownership of both semi-automatic assault cars and high capacity water containers.

This is not intended to in any way lessen the tragedy of what just happened in Connecticut. But the reality is that firearms are used 250 million times a year in America to PREVENT a crime, usually without a shot even being fired. That's over 6000 times A DAY, according to FBI statistics.

Twitter is currently going crazy with anti-gun rhetoric, the usual suspects coming out in droves to spew emotionally charged invectives in all directions. As I said after the election, I think we really have reached the tipping point - America is no longer worthy of being a free country, with individual liberty for all. The Other Side has spent nearly 100 years propagandizing and dumbing down the masses to the point where the majority is truly clueless and doesn't even know what they're asking to give up.

It's a sad, sad day. America really is over.

Mein Gott! Aetna CEO says ObamaCare will 'double' insurance costs for many Americans.

Well, that means many people will reduce or cancel coverage and thus many of these people will DIE.

Much like that guys' wife who Romney killed because he once worked at Bain Cap.

First guess at how many Americans will die every year as a Direct Result of the "Affordable   Health Care" law?
23,000 killed is my guess.

We must ban this murderous legislation. This ObamaCare nightmare which kills thousands of Womyn and Children.

The question Marty is how many people meant to drive their Corvette into others and kill the kids, or built a pool in order to drown kids? Probably Zero

Agreed. Also unlike guns common sense safety measures and restrictions are put in place to limit some of these fatalities. Many of the crazy gun people don't want any of these common sense solutions even if they can limit fatalities.

The mom had guns for protection and how'd that turn out? #Truth

That does not have anything to do with the actions of the principal. How many lives could have been saved if she were allowed to have a firearm in the school? Lefties did not want that to happen so they can come for our guns. That is why these things happen in liberal states. #Truth

With all the crap going on in the world, I have done a 180 degree turn on the subject. I sold my guns when I resigned from the Police Force. I didn't believe that having guns in a home with children was a good idea. But with the new right to carry/conceal going into effect, I will be armed at all times and will never hesitate to stop someone like this nut in Sandy Beach, Conn.

Instead of trying to take the guns away from rural Americans who have to wait an hour for the police, we should focus on the real problem. The state of Connecticut and other legislators around the country made schools "gun free" zones. That prevented the principal from being able to protect her school from a gunman that could fire 30 rounds in 10 seconds. These legislators have blood on their hands. #Truth

Ban Mully and Mr Haney? Absolutely.

But my banned post actually made sense. It 'cured' all the school massacre nutters by denying them that which they seek.
Let's let Stephen Hunter, the great novelist and WaPo writer describe this Easy Peasy Solution:

A word from Stephen Hunter

Stephen Hunter is the Pulitzer Prize-winning former film critic of the Washington Post and author of the Bob Lee Swagger series of novels, whose latest entrant — The Third Bullet — is forthcoming next month. Steve writes to comment with respect to the Newtown massacre:

It seems odd that in the orgy of recrimination, faux solemnity and glycerine tears of the past few days on the issue of “What can we do?” no one has mentioned something that is A.) Immediate, B) Cheap and C) Bound to be effective and at the least, D) Certainly worth trying. That is if the New York Times, the Washington Post, People Magazine, NBC, CBS, CNN and Fox–Big Media, USA– were to announce, jointly, the following voluntary policy: “As of January 1, 2013, we will not publish or broadcast the name, photograph or background of anyone who attempts or commits a mass murderer of the active shooter variety. Further, we will work within our professional culture to ‘enforce’ this rule until it becomes a cultural norm. Names of killers will only be acknowledged at the time of adjudication or the issuance of a posthumous investigative finding.”

No, you can’t keep the name and identity secret in this time of Internet and text, but you can certainly change the culture so that the killer doesn’t become a week-long rock star under the auspices of corporate media 24/7 overkill. It’s time for the media to be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.
**************************************

This would work. But It Will Never Happen. Media and the far Left--but I repeat myself--will never give up this school massacre soapbox for anti GOOPer/anti NRA propaganda.
The Left could not care less about dead kids. They want these massacres as they believe it gets them more votes so they can amass more power and Ca$h for themselves.

So, in Conclusion--there will never be a pull back from the 24/7 idiocy of Big Media. It would work fer sure but it would 'hurt' the Left so will never happen.

More fun Gun Massacre facts.

The Left is lying to you Mr and Mrs America. Concealed Carry heroes have stopped many massacres by (usually) leftist nutters.

http://www.humanevents.com/2012/12/19/a ... shootings/

[n a nonsense “study” going around the Internet right now, Mother Jones magazine claims to have produced its own study of all public shootings in the last 30 years and concludes: “In not a single case was the killing stopped by a civilian using a gun.”]

Some of the Leftist Nutter attackers who were stopped by Gun carrying heroes:

- Mayan Palace Theater, San Antonio, Texas, this week: Jesus Manuel Garcia shoots at a movie theater, a police car and bystanders from the nearby China Garden restaurant; as he enters the movie theater, guns blazing, an armed off-duty cop shoots Garcia four times, stopping the attack. Total dead: Zero.

– Winnemucca, Nev., 2008: Ernesto Villagomez opens fire in a crowded restaurant; concealed carry permit-holder shoots him dead. Total dead: Two. (I’m excluding the shooters’ deaths in these examples.)

– Appalachian School of Law, 2002: Crazed immigrant shoots the dean and a professor, then begins shooting students; as he goes for more ammunition, two armed students point their guns at him, allowing a third to tackle him. Total dead: Three.

– Santee, Calif., 2001: Student begins shooting his classmates — as well as the “trained campus supervisor”; an off-duty cop who happened to be bringing his daughter to school that day points his gun at the shooter, holding him until more police arrive. Total dead: Two.

– Pearl High School, Mississippi, 1997: After shooting several people at his high school, student heads for the junior high school; assistant principal Joel Myrick retrieves a .45 pistol from his car and points it at the gunman’s head, ending the murder spree. Total dead: Two.

– Edinboro, Pa., 1998: A student shoots up a junior high school dance being held at a restaurant; restaurant owner pulls out his shotgun and stops the gunman. Total dead: One.

By contrast, the shootings in gun-free zones invariably result in far higher casualty figures — Sikh temple, Oak Creek, Wis. (six dead); Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, Va. (32 dead); Columbine High School, Columbine, Colo. (12 dead); Amish school, Lancaster County, Pa. (five little girls killed); public school, Craighead County, Ark. (five killed, including four little girls).

All these took place in gun-free zones, resulting in lots of people getting killed — and thereby warranting inclusion in the Mother Jones study.

Not that you would provide any good facts, but would love to know where the offenders acquired their guns from? and please also notice each defense with a firearm was a pistol or single shot firearm.

As I can see gun shows being shut down, from what I have read No waiting period from guns purchased at a show?

Would like to see more than a 10 day waiting period on a gun.

If the state takes 3-4 weeks to process my real estate license, then do the same with the guns???

First you need a license, then you can buy a gun.

I died just last week after a masked gunman illegally shot me as I patiently waited for my gun license. Checkmate.

The number of guns sales have once again increased dramatically after another mass shooting. That's always a great response. Even if legislation is passed no one will get their guns taken from them. Unlike gold it will never happen. You just won't be able to purchase a new one of those weapons. Before the previous assault weapons ban went into effect gun owners went out and purchased 10 years worth of them.

If I hear one more time that this could have been prevented if someone in the school had a gun my head is going to explode. While it's not the same size as spanky's it not that far off. The mother had guns and she was killed. Recently 8 innocent people were shot by police in a shoot out. I would suspect they have better training than most gun owners. Even if there were someone there with a gun and this happened the gun owner would be labeled incompetent or we would hear there needed to be more than 1 person with a gun. All of these excuses just to avoid admitting that guns that allow you to fire 30 shots in under 10 seconds and 30 round magazines make these shootings easier.

My father-in-law lives in Florida, and he has a concealed carry permit. He is strapped everywhere he goes. After the theater shooting in Colorado, he said that it wouldn't have happened if he was there. He thought he could take that guy out, despite all of the armor he was wearing, and the tear gas containers contaminating the air.

I'm not a "ban all guns" guy, which probably surprises those that think I'm a flaming liberal, but I have to laugh at how many gun owners think that they are sharp shooters. Just saying something doesn't make it so.

My parents were both lifetime NRA members when I was growing up, and there were shotguns and handguns in our house. My brother and I were taught to respect these guns, and we never dared play with them. Of course, this was the 1980's when home invasions happened much more frequently than they do today. Now, those guns were protection. My father could grab one, and load it in no time. He served in the army, and knew how to use them. He realistically could shoot someone if they broke into the house. Now, he is no longer with us, and my mother lives alone. Now, picture a female Scorehead, and that's her. Tow the Republican party line, no matter what, so of course guns are a hot button issue with her. I asked her recently why she still has the guns in the house. Protection is her answer. The guns and ammo are on top of a shelf in a closet. My mother is 5' in big shoes. There is no way she can reach them if she needs them in a hurry. She probably hasn't fired a gun in twenty five years.

These are two examples of the type of person that gives the gun crowd a bad name.

I'm not surprised to hear that a gun owner believes they are a sharp shooter. I love the confidence but I wouldn't want to be in the room when they try to be one. Your mom is probably holding onto her past. I can understand that. In a sense it keeps her young.

She has no thoughts on sports. Outside of MJ or Walter, I doubt she could name another athlete that played in this town. It's just limited to political and social commentaries.
