CNN reports that the shooter had an altercation with somebody at the school a couple of days ago. They also reported that shooter tried to buy a gun on Tuesday.

So, it's clear, he didn't snap that day. He was planning it at least days in advance.

So he tried to buy a gun and wasn't able to?

Interesting.

Now the chief says that they have no information of a altercation between the shooter and somebody that worked at the school, contrary to what CNN reported a couple of hours agon. The question of him trying to buy a gun was never asked. So don't trust that.

My God, CNN has just disgraced themselves over the last 2 days. One of the most horrible jobs of reporting ever. Horrible and irresponsible. Just wrong after wrong after wrong after wrong reporting.

Chief also said the shooter didn't have his brother's ID on him, contrary to what CNN reported yesterday.

Which makes it more amazing that his brother was reported as the killer by CNN. How did they trust that wrong info? Unbelievable.

The brother probably voted for Romney. #LiberalBias

Members of the Lanza family are set to give a news conference in New Hampshire at 5pm. Not the brother or Dad. Some other relatives.

Just trying to figure it out on my own. Reports are the shooter was shy and reserved but people said he was smart.

He shot 6-year olds. First graders.

So as I'm listening to the reports, something kind of hit me. He's 20 years old. He moved to Newton in 1998. That's when his parents split. He attented that school right when he arrived. He was 6 years old. He was a first grader. Maybe that's his message. Maybe that was his pain. He felt his life ended as a 6 year old after he moved and his parents split. Maybe the killings were symbolic.

Yeah. Especially when I heard he tried to buy a gun on Tuesday. If that's true, then he planned it.

All first graders? Only first graders? Reports said other kids ran past him. He didn't shoot at them. Medical examiner said 3-11 bullets in the 7 kids he examined. So it wasn't about hitting as many as he could and going to all of the rooms knowing he only had so much time before the cops came. It was about making sure all of those first graders were dead. And they all did die. 11 shots at some of those first graders and no less than three. That's very personal. That's for a reason.

He thinks his life ended when he moved and became a first grader at this school so he was gonna kill all first graders. He's also 20 and he killed exactly 20 kids. There has to be a reason in his deranged mind to plan something like this. It wasn't just a random act. Since they say he was smart, I wouldn't put it past him to make it all symbolic.

Reports say cops found strong evidence in the house as to the motive. I'm thinking he wrote a manifesto. Maybe explaining what I suggested.

Wow, all my other posts dealing with the underlying causes and effects you all ignore, this a response to other posts get a response, cool. Good to know you all are willing to have a debate, but as usual only when it is on your terms
So tell me Peeps, what are your responses to my other posts about what is the real problem, not guns but how we are as a society. Religion has a very real place in this conversation. All the major religions tell us to honor life and help our fellows, yet in this modern society we are to preoccupied with material things and what is in it for us. I mean look at all the bullshit flung at me when I let the board know I ring bells for the Salvation Army. Or that people on here in a thread commented that they only give to the Kettles when the weather is bad otherwise they don't. The far right gets grief because they want to put Christian values back into our lives. Guess what if you look at all
of the documents of our founding they are based on Christian value. Like it or not.

Because Lord knows religion never caused anything bad.

Separation of church and state is a good thing. We do not want a National Church like Iran,Iraq or Nazi Germany.
Read the entire 1st and understand what it says. It says
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
So according to the Amendment as written I should be able to pray in school but rulings passed by not allowing in school prayer the judicial branch says no. So they are restricting 1st Amendment rights. Why do they allow muslim kids to wear traditional gear in schools but make others who wear proChristian shirts to take them off or reverse them? Seems they are not following the Amendment as written.
I love when people bring up the Separation of Church and State argument and have no clue what it is about.

Kind of like people who bring up the Second Amendment and have no clue what it actually says.

Not more religious per say but it helps make one more morally grounded. Gives you a moral compass. We are a fucked up society that right now is lost and does not care bout others.

Yup,exact. I see what you are trying to do so here is something for you to think about:

a : a part of the organized armed forces of a country liable to call only in emergency
b : a body of citizens organized for military service
2
: the whole body of able-bodied male citizens declared by law as being subject to call to military service
So therefore every male citizen of this country that is registered for the selective service is by definition part of the militia and as a constitutional right to own a firearm

So... I have this week off and woke up today to see that two more CT schools are on lockdown this morning due to an armed man walking around in the area.
