You must be confusing him with Gavin Floyd.

Thought Kamps was better than the purposely get the name wrong as some sort of insult guy, myself.

He is. He's just having a bad time. He'll snap out of it soon enough.

Or this is all an elaborate ruse.

Hello Tall Midget and seasons greetings

Season's Greetings to you as well, Bagels! I've been slammed at work for the past few months, so haven't been listening to too much music lately. Got any good recommendations for stuff to pick up? I've loved your Guided By Voices picks in the past.

Come on man, so you never came out and said the key word or something. But let's not forget your thoughts about the people in an area that's 99.99999% Black.

So because I have said the area I work in is filled with ignorant people and lazy fucks that would rather take handouts than actually get a job, I hate black people?

Interesting. Hey please don't tell any of my black friends this( you know like one of my best friends from high school who stood up in my wedding, who was just at my son's baptism, who lived on my couch for a couple months when he got kicked out of his house). I don't think he'd really like to know after all these years I don't really like him because he's black.

Maybe you shouldn't just assume someone's racist because they don't agree with someone who is black.

Ok, rather than to continue this, I'll leave it alone. I said what I had to say, you (and others) said what you wanted to say. This isn't going anywhere, except down a bad road that gets no one nowhere.

I disagree with most of that. Nas and I have both said several times that we have had several long race-related discussions on this board without any ill will on either side and with both of us being completely honest. Race discussions get heated when either or both parties show inability or unwillingness to try to understand the other's point of view. They don't get heated because all white people are racists-in-denial and black guys are trying to expose their denial.

No, I don't think so. I have no idea though how rare it is. Like anything else, it depends on the people having the discussion. I don't think an overwhelming majority of people get into these discussions to "win it" or prove they are right, I think most people are simply curious and trying to learn the extent of their own ignorance. Obviously there's a lot of people who are hotheads that don't control their tempers or impulses during these conversations, but I'm not sure it's a significant majority. I've also noticed these discussions are usually more interesting and more productive in person rather than online, but that may just speak to your point that some people have trouble being completely frank in person. There's been quite a few comments by multiple people on here that probably would not have been said to the Lodge in person.

But I think it's hard to have a real discussion when it's beginning from a place of dishonesty on at least one side.

For example, I remember OKC once made a comment about how someone on this board would call him a racial epithet in traffic and a bunch of guys were quick to deny it asking, "Who? Who?" And Kid just said, "Somebody would." Of course he was right.

And for the record, do I think that Chris in Joliet is racist? No. We have hung out a few times. Good times. Even hung out at an MMA event where Jack Bauer's (the poster not the 24 guy) brother fought.

Agreed. JORR is also right that it is an exception. It's hard for people to be open enough to consider someone else point of view when it comes to sports so you can multiply that by 100 when it comes to race.

If we're being honest we're all racially bias to some degree. Same thing bias applies to any group of people you identify yourself you.
