I'm glad I didn't have to hear that, it sure looks like today's show was a real monster.

I had it on for 15 min or so on my way home from work....................Bad.

The whole "God, these callers are so stupid! We hate the fans! Fans are dumb!" and every call BernSTINE will do his talking over the caller, nitpicking everything, not letting the guy talk or the quiet whispers while the caller is talking. And then hang up and call the caller stupid and a dope.

Good. I was so fucking offended by him doing that, what an insensitive jerk.

The more I think about it, the more I'm really bothered by how Dan treated that caller. The whole anti-meatball perspective of the show has snowballed into something really ugly beyond just having a more measured outlook on sports. Hating stupid fans turns into hating the white players stupid fans like, which turns into dwelling on black players to be in opposition to the white players, which turns into calling them bodies and dogs and thinking it's complimentary. What a bunch of creeps, huh.

And that's not even getting into the ever-increasing fetishization of corporations, team owners, and other such moneyed interests, which aren't The People, and are therefore good.

Bernstein apparently did a good job of hiding these feelings for a majority of this millennium and now seems to no longer care about how he comes across, but it is disturbing nonetheless. Dan Bernstein has become a satrap over the last 5-6 years (pertaining to callers) and has slowly phased out pretty much everything that used to be fun and lighthearted about the show.

Good observation, Kid. He took the mocking and satirical nature of the show and tried to turn it into some super serious, smart persons Sports Show where the only people that are allowed to be smart at the hosts even though the hosts are clueless. They were the ones making fun of the super serious ESPN talking heads that would say all manner of stupid shit and cliches....now they are those guys. The attempt has been a miserable failure and the show is now ruined.

This is why MJH handed B&B their ass back in the day.

The most lighthearted the show has been over the last few years was when Jason would chime in, and they'd talk pop culture. That's gone now. I'm telling you this show misses Goff.
