Even at 9-7, I expect the same outcome, along with murmurs that the McCaskeys couldn't justify firing a coach after a winning season and a winning tenure, citing that it's something that's just not done.

I think Emery wants him out right now, but the point is that it needs to be run up the McPole!

I think you are exactly right there -- when he took the job, there had to be a discussion about the terms of getting rid of him. No way would they agree on Lovie automatically getting a second year. Even if they make the playoffs, I think they should fire him. Maybe if they made it to the NFC Championship, I would consider not doing it, but honestly, it is time for some new blood around here. It's just time.
