Although this will be Bernstein's last show before he takes off for the holiday, he & Holmes will have a great deal to talk about this afternoon following the daily transition with Mac & Spiegs around 1:15P-ish.

Bears/Cardinals' talk will be front & center as The SCORE's own Zach Zaidman joins the guys following practice in the Walter Payton Center this afternoon, plus "NFL on FOX" & NFL Network analyst Brian Billick & former Sun-Times writer Dan Bickley, longtime scribe for the Arizona Republic & XTRA Sports Radio in Phoenix, check in to preview the matchup at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, AZ late Sunday afternoon. Quite frankly, I'm surprised these guys, let alone Mac & Spiegs, haven't talked to this guy since the last time the Bears & Cardinals played in 2006...

I'm new to this, guys so help me out. How do we treat a "fill-in" show? Can I pre-hate on them for stuff or do I have to wait for the show to start? Also, since it's Laurence, do I have to pretend to hate the guy while secretly haboring jealousy in my heart?

For starters, Holmes is always first in line whenever he and/or Boers are off. I think it's been that way even before Jason Goff bolted for The Game SportsRadio in Atlanta earlier this year and when Drew Hayes was calling the shots instead of Program Director Mitch Rosen at The SCORE.

Second, the Daily Herald's Barry Rozner works tomorrow with Mark Grote in the time slot usually occupied by "McNeil/Spiegel" 9A-1P followed by Mac & Spiegs guest hosting the "B & B Show" from Chammps in Lombard for the final "Bud Light 'Who Needs Two?' Tavern Tour" live broadcast for 2012 from 1-6P. Rozner will guest co-host again the middle of next week with Spiegs when Mac takes off all next week for Christmastime. At this point, I'm not sure if Rozner and/or Tribune columnist/SCORE Saturday AM host Steve Rosenbloom will also fill in with Bernstein in the afternoon the next couple of weeks until Boers is scheduled to return, I think on January 7th.

It will get very interesting to find out who will be filling in on The SCORE the week of New Year's, especially with Matt Abbatacola away until January 10th with his wife about ready to give birth, I do believe.

I am convinced that Holmes is the heir apparent should Boers decide to call it a career real soon.

Because Dan's entire life is a battle to feel better about himself by putting down others.

Who does that for him more than Larry?

It's not low-level insulting. It's proper insulting. Low-level insulting would be the following:

- Calling Tommy Williams an "Uncle Tom" on the air.

- Not shaking hands with somebody for no good reason. Not saying hello to somebody for no good reason.

- Attacking Rock on the air once he leaves.

- Acussing people of racism on things for which you accept from B&B.

I know he throws that around a lot (as Goff did), but accusing somebody of being a racist is a bit more than a low level insult.
