If Hub Arkush wants to start the nighttime SCORE right now instead of 7P this eve, please do.

I was kidding when I said that, but there are times where these guys and others on The SCORE should take texts and E-mails instead of dumb phone calls. In fact, I thought there was a Jim Rome sounddrop when Mac was up the dial. You know...

Rome: "Do not bring me down with bad phone calls."

HEY! Hub's on the schedule posted at 670thescore.com. Guests usually aren't far behind when Arkush has an airshift.

Special Christmas medley? Man, Tannehill is the grindiest producer they've ever had. You have to ask now, what did Goff do?

Jason used to do production pieces. He seemed to have stopped completely in 2009. It's good to hear them every now and then though. I like Tannehill's work.

Tanny's the same producer responsible for custom-made opens for "NFL on FOX"/NFL Network analyst Brian Billick coming up next hour & the "WYC" open come 5P. You'll hear what I'm referring.

Why did you start dropping "to" from "refer to"? You need the preposition there or it doesn't make any sense.

wtf my audio signal just went from really good to really bad. I blame the CBS Sports Minute featuring Doug Gottlieb's thoughts on lying to the NCAA

Since we are giving english lessons at the moment, please help me with this question. Isn't it considered a bad sentence if it ends in a preposition? Or something to that effect?

Thank you,
beni

"No ending sentences with prepositions" is a holdover of grammarians who wanted English to be just like Latin, where you cannot do such things. It's a good rule at times, but people reduce it to absurdity, like with Churchill's famous "up with which I will not put" line. Thing is, though, that "to put up with" is just a phrasal verb synonymous with "to tolerate," so you're not supposed to rearrange it, anyway. I wouldn't worry about doing the gymnastics of "someone to whom it's hard to talk," though bonus points if you do, but I would worry more about hypercorrecting and saying, like, "he's in for whom I'm sitting."

Really? From what I remember of Mac's show, there is quite a bit of that.

I find Laurences stories (tales?) interesting most of the time...
