It broke up the condescending/lecture orientation of the show but it was but a slice of the overall content.

Good observation, Kid. They were the ones making fun of the super serious ESPN talking heads that would say all manner of stupid shit and cliches....now they are those guys. The attempt has been a miserable failure and the show is now ruined.

This is why MJH handed B&B their ass back in the day.

I agree with everything except for your last sentence. The odd thing is that when MJH was at its peak, B&B were also putting out their best shows. Yes B&B lost in the ratings, but the show quality was better. Perhaps lack of competition and complacency are also playing a part in B&B's quality decline. Kinda like WWE no longer having WCW around to compete with.

And A7X, you know I completely agree on Goff.

MJH and B&B were two different shows, so comparing them is a bit tough.

I believe B&B is better in the morning 9am-1pm slot or thereabouts.

The Matty & Terry show last week was very enjoyable. The show was an easy nice listen. Terry has a much better chemistry with Matty as they aren't forced to be mad and can be goofy.

I wonder if the Score microfocusing its sports talk to Chicago sports in response to ESPN beating them in the ratings has caused the shift.

So I listen to the show on the way home last night with Dan telling me how no players care one bit about the fans. That's fine. I don't pretend to have some romance with the players on my favorite teams. However, when I got home, after hugging my kids of course, I flipped on halftime of MNF to see Victor Cruz talk about how honored he felt to be the hero of one of the Red Hook victims and memorialized the kid on his shoes on Sunday. I guess that must have been consistent with Terry's take that they will tell a different story once the cameras are off.

I am a very cynical, jaded, bitter person. That said, I found the Victor Cruz story very touching. He seems like a legit nice guy. I don't even mind his stupid soup commercial. If that's an act for the camera, it's a good one. If he's working that hard to be something he's not, he can be whatever he wants.

Urlacher's own comments on Sunday demonstrate that he--and Terry--are full of crap.

In less than one minute, Urlacher stated that he "didn't care what the media or fans think" and also expressed disgust that the fans were booing the Bears. If Urlacher doesn't care about fan opinion, why would he be upset about booing at Soldier Field?

Sorry. Looks like WWN already made the same point here.

I'll add this to the "times WWN beat Tall Midget to the punch" list, right next to "nothing, ever."

Aaaaaaand right on cue, here's a lengthy shill for the One Step poker event

I'd also like to point out once more that Dan once said that the Cubs fans who walked across the country to raise money for cancer research should be killed.

He also recently said that anyone who calls into a radio show is stupid. Nothing like asking some of your stupid listeners for money when it suits you.

I'm glad I didn't have to hear that, it sure looks like today's show was a real monster.

I had it on for 15 min or so on my way home from work....................Bad.

The whole "God, these callers are so stupid! We hate the fans! Fans are dumb!" and every call BernSTINE will do his talking over the caller, nitpicking everything, not letting the guy talk or the quiet whispers while the caller is talking. And then hang up and call the caller stupid and a dope.

Bernstein has really taken his bit of hating fans/callers pretty far recently. Taking calls has become pretty predictable - for most of them, he either (or does all) nitpicks, shows disinterest, calls the caller names and eventually hangs up.

It was pretty funny when Terry mentioned the alleged "deal" for Cutler that's his source told him about and Hub hadn't heard hide nor hair of it...
