Because Larry has a long history of lying about himself to make him seem more impressive. Because Larry's pride wouldn't allow him to say he wasn't accepted. His pride wouldn't allow him to admit that his parents couldn't affford it.

It's also common sense. You don't reject Illinois becasue of the cow smell. Of all the pros and cons of picking a school, if it comes down to that, you're an idiot. That wasn't the reason, obviously. Anybody who says that is a liar. It's a much better academic school than DePaul. If you have that option, you take Illinois.

Larry saying it was the cow smell is him taking a shot at Illinois. Probably cuz he wasn't accepted.

Maybe he didn't apply. Maybe he visited, couldn't stand the shit smell, and chose not to apply.

I would agree with this. If this were in fact true, I wouldn't share my decision-making process with others because you aren't doing it right.

There were most certainly other reasons that he chose or needed to go to DePaul. He just uses this story as a slap at Illinois and to be able to participate in Bernsie's downstate cracker discussion with accents where everyone outside of Chicago sounds like they live in wooden sheds in Mississippi.

Given the definitions, I'll give Larry the benefit of the doubt and say he's a compulsive liar rather than pathological. It's more evil to be a pathological liar. But maybe I'm wrong. What do you guys think?
