Bulls out gunning again. Nice fast start. Like I said, this unit is finally starting to gel together.

Rip, please don't come back.

Bulls shooting 50% teams tend to shoot what they average..so I'm expecting a bad 3rd quarter. Thank God Mello can score cause he sure can't play D

The only way the Knicks get back into it is the Refs. Stacey King stating the obvious the Bulls doing the job on the glass...duh the Knicks are shooting 30%

Terrible officiating led to that brouhaha.

I fast forwarded this with the DVR before I watched it to make sure they won and I was surprised how that lead almost disappeared at the end of the game. The Bulls did get sloppy with the ball toward the end and played some bad defense and may have lost the game had some of the Knicks guys not been ejected. Fortunately for them they hit most of their free throws toward the end. After holding the Knicks to roughly 60 points in 3 quarters they gave up 45 in the 4th quarter.

Overall I liked what I saw from the Bulls. No longer were they standing around waiting for something to happen. They passed and cut. The difference in the game I thought was the scoring from the starters (15 or more from 4 starters) in particular Hinrich's 16 points. The Bulls actually got very little from the bench in terms of scoring. Nate and Butler combined for 6-19 from the field.

I wouldn't go so far to say that this Bulls team could beat the Knicks in a 7-game series without Rose. You're not going to get almost 30 points from Deng every night and the Knicks are not going to go 8-28 from the 3 point line regularly. But I think as long as the Bulls are playing defense they should be in every game with the Knicks.

Other thoughts: Ronnie Brewer is bad for the Knicks (no points in 10 minutes). Butler is better offensively and as good or better defensively, younger and makes less money. Tyson Chandler is a poor sport who acts like a hothead when his team is losing. The officiating may have favored the Bulls, but Anthony still got outplayed by Deng and the Knicks played like a bunch of bums. I predict the Knicks will have problems when Stoudemire comes back from his injury.
