Deng is a far better defender but Melo's offensive ability is still better than Dengs scoring and defense combined

Melo may just be the MVP this year.

All you gotta do is get Deng the ball and get out of the way.

He's having a great year, but I don't think I would ever consider him Top 5 before this season.

James
Kobe
Durant

These are the only guys who have been above him imo

I know we've had this thread before, but Melo has never won anything. No team will ever win as him being "The Guy".

Paul
Rose

Those six are no brainers to me above Melo. Arguments can be made for a dozen other guys.

Melo is a slightly better Big DOG.

39 points and they meant nothing. He couldnt hit shit when they needed it when the game was close. He's a one on one player that gets worn down when he's guarding someone. Deng destroyed him for three quarters. He had no intention of matching Dengs intensity.

Rose and Paul arent no brainers above Melo. An argument can be made but definitely not no brainers. And there us absolutely not a dozen other players who are above Him either. That ridiculous statement is outright laughable and Skip Bayless-esque

Top 5 scorer yes. He just scores. Without the ball he's a spectator.

You are severely overrating Melo if you think Rose and Paul aren't no brainers ahead of him. What's his best accomplishments in the NBA?

Who would you say the dozen are?

LaMarcus Aldridge
Blake Griffin
Dwyane Wade
Kyrie Irving
Stephen Curry
James Harden
Dwight Howard
Rajon Rondo
Russel Westbrook
Zach Randolph
Marc Gasol

So I could only think of 11 guys other guys besides Rose, Paul, Durant, Kobe, LeBron, and Love who I would consider taking before Melo. Not saying I definitely would. Many people significantly overrate Melo because they think defense isn't important or something.

Luol Deng dropped 33 on Melo last night.

Luol Deng....

That should be the end of this Melo argument right there.
