Looking someplace around 4500 North near Blue line. Want some decent coming home for holidays to meet a friend for some grub and a few cocktails. I would like a place with a decent Vodka selection. I looked at the Reader listings and they got no Polish, just Bosnian and German.

This is a short walk from the Jefferson Park El station. I haven't been there, but I haven't heard bad things.

Oh my Lord, that looks just delightful.

Not saying I'm a foodie, but off the top of my head it seems to me many Eastern European peoples have got their food shit together.

Speaking of Polish food......

SomeGuy is having his annual Pierogi Night tomorrow. Make that dough, make that stuffing, drink that booze and eat that shit.

You are all invited.

smak tak is really good. TM has praised Teresa's in the past. I like a place on the south side of Lawrence just west of Austin. I don't think it even has a name.

I've heard nothing but bad things about Old Warsaw.

A Van Halen fan AND a Polack? We're kindred spirits, SG. We missed Pierogi Fest this year but have been staples in years past. Ever been?

I have some cherry pierogi in my fridge, and with the wife working late tonight, I may have to break them out. God bless Busia! (We use Busia instead of Babcia.)

Went to the Red Apple on Belmot.
Really good food. Very good selection. Not that huge of place for being a buffet.
Decent price of $15 with a two hour time limit. Staff was friendly and cute.
