I don't understand Bernstein's blind faith in Emery just because his guy says Emery has processes and is methodical. Still too early but so far Emery's methods and processes has yielded a mixed bag of shit (Rachal, Bush, Weems, Hardin, Hayden), meh (McClellin, Hayes, Forte contract, Scott) and great (Marshall). Not saying his processes suck. Though, you can have all the processes you want but if they are dog shit then the result is dog shit.

Hasn't he spoken glowingly of how quiet and "CIA-like" Emery is, as a disciple of Pioli and thus Belichick? Do we really want to speak glowingly of Pioli's management style as the Kansas City Chiefs go absolutely up in flames the likes of which we haven't seen in years?

Man, Dan sure is right about how you could exercise a ton and still put on weight because you ate all you could eat for free every day. I did! Then I got depressed about it and stopped exercising, and got really fat. Took pretty much all of it off now and will probably need knee replacement surgery for all the miles I ran to burn it back off.

This show has been a rough listen. Bowen is a tough listen. He only knows football, and after about 10 minutes, you're ready to PTFB.

As Spiegal was preparing to give some inside White Sox information about AJ, he says "I'm not a guy who pretends to have sources or has sources on stuff, but this is a real one".....Wondering which show he was referring to?

I listened to most of the show today and it felt directionless. I can't really tell you what was talked about today because they didn't really talk about anything other than Xs and Os and then trying to Bowen nodding in agreement whenever Dan transitioned to basketball talk.

Additionally, an offhand question by a caller as to whether Bowen would ever consider a coaching gig somehow ended up with a 5-10 minute monologue by Dan about how we shouldn't watch the ball and how basketball and football are awesome because they are like geometry.

What are these sports that don't involve geometry.

Hockey doesn't involve geometry because hockey doesn't involve anything. Angles, schmangles, it's just stuff happening with a puck and then someonefallsdownandsomeonescores. Right? I mean, it would slot right in next to "hockey is easy on your legs because you're just gliding."

Now you're getting it!

To clarify if you didn't listen, he was explaining it in the context of basketball and football "stuff" being comparable to geometric proofs because there is some intrinsic "truth" behind a successfully run basketball/football play. Which is a silly comparison since the "truth" relies on a play being run successfully.
