The last PS2 ever shipped in Japan. Curse you Dreamcast for having crappy games.

I'm surprised IMU didn't post that the PS2 has been dead for quite a while. Really older generation systems only are relevent maybe a year or 2 after the current generation. I know Nintendo still made Famicon games until the early 90s, but here in America (where it counts) it was done.

The last PS2 games I got were God of War II & Final Fantasy XII.

I have a PS2 with a lot of dust on it.

I love breaking out the regular Nintendo and Super Nintendo about once a year - NBA Live 95 is still the best basketball game ever made.

I remember buying the Dreamcast pretty early on and really liking that first football game because you could hide the plays in your controller window.

My 12 yr. old is playing a game (Dragon Ball Z) on XBox Kinect he played on PS2 years ago. The more things change...

And I still am puzzled as to WHY he still finds it fun.

It has been dead for some time, but it was probably one of the best selling consoles of all time. If you have a PS2 you can play all of the PS1 games and all the PS2 games, which there were a ton of. Some people have hacked their PS2 and can even play old Nintendo and Sega games on there. Unfortunately, too often in our world that is obsessed with the next big thing true greatness is forgotten as only the latest items get the public's attention.

I played my PS2 today actually. Whatever the last Madden was, I still play it. Just make up the stud rookies and add them to the FA pool.
