I concur. Dude has the stones to make a tough decision rather than taking the easy way out.

Now, what does he know about evaluating coaches, I dunno.

i liked the cut of his jib once he got hired and brought in brandon marshall. that told me something that i wanted to hear.

this is a good move on both sides of the fire/hire, as not only are they out in front of this with all of the other slumdogs, but lovie can also jump in for the cleveland/KC/buffalo(?) jobs if they're willing to say "hey, alternating between 7-9 and 9-7 with the occasional 10-6/11-5 and one miracle year sounds like a sound business move" which, in many ways, it would be

I also like the fact that he is meeting with the players today and then doing the press conference tomorrow. He clearly doesn't care about being a media darling.

This is a very good thing!

Now he can take out Urlacher if he wants, without asking.

Have to think this choice was finally made after the Vikings loss.

Emery escaped a Juron style bullet with Lovie's fade at the end of this year.

I have a feeling Phil made this decision when Lovie didn't want the deal offered earlier this year. Probably would of kept him if he went deep into the playoffs, but the fade (plus the snarky attitude Lovie starting taking with the media) made this decision a lot easier to make.

Now, let's see who he gets.
