I always find The 4th of July to be a bit depressing as it signals that Summer is rapidly coming to an end.

Uh. I was generally out of school first week of June and started up again right around the last week of August.

So for you fourth of July-- a date which is about 3 weeks after your school age kids start summer break, and 6-7 weeks before they end summer break-- signifies summer's end for the school kids.

What world do you live in where that makes sense?
