I'm going to pick some up when I'm on on Munster on Friday. One of the stores that I go to has a ton of this stuff on their shelf so I think I'll pick up a few.

The Great Lakes Christmas ale was very good. Good call boys.

Picked up a couple of the big bottles of 3 floyds Broo Doo for the fights tomorrow night.

That's all really, I'll see myself out.

That's delicious. Good score, too. I believe it was their October "seasonal" so I haven't been able to find it for a while. I'm headed to Beer Market in Vernon Hills tonight. They have a few hundred beers. Looking forward to trying some new stuff.

Picked up a four pack of Great Lakes Brewery "Nosferatu" Red Ale. Tasty and a big thumbs up. I'm not that much of a Red Ale fan, but this got me roped in.

Probably hitting up 3 Floyd's next weekend on my way to Cleveland for the Redskins game. It will be my last beer stocking of the year, since I don't drink during January to early-April.

Why no drinking then? Being on call or something during that time period? Oh, I highly recommend the Risgoop from FFF if they still have some. A little pricy of a beer, but I love it.

I'm an accountant, so it's a stressful time of year (yes, I know beer usually helps stress). It's something I started doing a few years ago. Give up all alcohol during tax season. I sleep better (whatever sleep I actually get) and don't have to worry about any hangovers. Don't worry, I more than make up for it during the rest of the year.

Just looked up Risgoop on Beer Advocate. Sounds delicious. The liquor store near me usually stocks a 3 or 4 FFF bombers, so I'll check there tomorrow.

I thought maybe it was for recovery time on the Redskins not making the playoffs yet again. :P

(like I have room to razz, it probably will be the Redskins in and Eagles in the cellar)

Nah, I'm used to them not making the playoffs, though I am very optimistic this year. I doubt they can get a WC, but I believe the division is fully within reach. Assuming they tie NYG, I would assume Wash's division record would be 5-1, which would give them the tiebreaker over the Giants.

Believe it or not, I'm partially on the Redskins bandwagon...especially with how fun it is to watch RG III. This is something that I would NEVER do for the Giants or Cowboys.....no can do, no way ever. :ncool:

This deserves a bump. If only they can hold on to the division lead now...

On my way to Cleveland, I picked up a few cases of Zombie Dust and three bombers of this

Has anyone had Stack N Stabb? I'll be dipping into my first bomber tonight.

I have never had that one - look forward to the review!

If you are still willing to part with some Zombie Dust I would be happy to meet up and buy you a beer or two for your efforts.

I've been drinking the Great Lakes Christmas Ale for the past couple of days. While I've read several positive reviews of this beer, I wasn't that impressed. In my samplings of this seasonal ale, I didn't detect any of the cinammon, ginger, or caramel notes promised on the label; instead, it struck me as tinny and somewhat bitter. I would not recommend this beverage to my fellow holiday drinkers.

Have any of you had better luck with winter/Christmas beer? If so, please elaborate...

I really liked the Great Lakes Christmas Ale. I had a Samuel Adam's White Christmas, and I wasn't very impressed.

:?

Everybody seems to think it's great except me. I'll have to try a couple more tonight and see if my opinion changes.

I'm not a fan of Xmas beers at all - the spices are not to my liking. In the winter, I turn to porters and stouts.

Goose Island serves a cask conditioned Two Pence Porter. It's different, like any cask conditioned brew, but very enjoyable. Give it a try if you are there.

I recently tried the Revolution Porter. It's slightly less nutty and heavy than most porters. Good malt flavor. I liked it a lot.

Also had the Stone Pale Ale over the weekend. Very nice session beer.

Still not appreciating the Great Lakes Christmas Ale all that much.

Revolution Porter is very good. I drank my last can a few weeks ago. Christmas Ales are not for me. Not a fan of the spices.

One of my new favorites is Dogfish Head Chicory Stout. Damn tasty.

Local store by me had a couple cases but were selling them for $13 a 22oz bottle! That's a bit much. They also tweeted out they had a barrel aged stout with cherries on sale for $35 a 750mL. Ridiculous. Three Floyds makes excellent beer but they seem to be artificially inflating their product and self worth.

 I sprung the $13 for a bomber.

The way I see it, the bomber would be $10 at their brewpub, and I would spend more than $3 in gas driving there and back. I'm saving money, right? RIGHT!??!?! The GF picked me up a sixer of Hop Slam this morning. My intentions were to give up booze until mid-March, but that's going to be tough to do now. Anyone ever had it? I have not, but have heard great things.

Hopslam is the goods. Expensive but very good. Had some last year and awaiting it's arrival to the local liquor stores.

I'll have some for Saturday for sure. But at $18 a 6 pack that won't be a beer I'll be sharing.

I was surprised when I learned of the $17 price tag. I now have no qualms over Mariano's one-per-customer limit.

Yeah I have alot of fun shit coming up that I'd like to have a really good beer for those occasions. I can't justify spending $35 on a 12 pack of Hopslam when I can buy a whole case of Zombie Dust or Gumball Head for the same price. One 6 pack is enough.
