It's basically the Mully & Hanley intro. I can't tell if it's supposed to be a parody of it, though. Tannehill seems too earnest in his efforts to prove that, unlike his predecessor, he is a producer who produces.

12-18 months ago these two dopes were the biggest Lovie fans out there. Now they're happy he's gone.

Recall anyone who called in to "FIRE LOVIE" would be treated as racists.

I don't think that's entirely true. They've always had windows of maybe wanting to get rid of him.

Over the long run, this is more or less true.

i'm in the same boat on this one. i was legitimately "huh?" when the intro went DAN BERNSTEIN: "let's talk to some terrible callers!"

seeing as that's the #1 complaint about bernstein from those who wish him gone, it's odd to see it used as a promotional means of exalting him.

Yeah, they both go

[PERSON] AND [PERSON]: [DAYPART] ON THE SCOOOOORRRE

blah blah blah, blah blah

[REASONS WHY THEY'RE SO GREAT]

blah blah blah blah something topical

[PERSON]!!!

that guy talking

[OTHER PERSON]!!!

that guy talking

[PERSON] AND [PERSON] ON THE SCOOOOORRRE

---

Using a formulaic piece used by a formulaic show doesn't work for a show that jerks itself off for subverting the sports radio format. So, uh, nice format.

It's just one piece of work. Interesting to see how the body starts taking shape over the next couple of months. There may be new directives that require a piece fit a certain formula, thus we get that warm powdered milk taste on the ears.

I'm tired of the patting of themselves on their backs because their "guys" were on it, supposedly. They must of forgot that Terry's guy said Lovie was getting new paper. Hopefully their guys are real and better than Goff's Bulls guy.

too earnest? Disagree. Love his work level.

this will be tape worth saving today for when Phil ultimately fails and fails hard.

Wasn't he a couple of weeks ago comparing NIU's chances to Boise State vs Oklahoma??? Terry who you crappin'?

No comparison. I'm not surprised Florida State took NIU to the woodshed last night in the Discover Card Orange Bowl. Besides, I thought I was listening or watching a Braves' game in Atlanta hearing all the sounds from the crowd all night long.

i don't mean to trivialize your post/er of the year artform by suggesting that it's something you can turn on and turn off on demand, but given your bachelor's degree in larry sciences, if you could do one of those for laurence it'd sound real nice in my head.

(seriously tho, that was great.... good job!)

I think it's more like one big window of considering thinking about tossing around the idea of discussing the possibility of whether or not Lovie should be fired. And really, without knowing every contingency that might emerge within this particular plane of existence, it's impossible to answer that question. Hell, we may be changing the answer just by discussing it. (Butterfly effect, you know.) Really, the only thing we can establish beyond a shadow of a doubt is that the McCaskeys are not cheap.

"Dis black guy RG3 is just anuddeer runnin back playing Quarterback who occasionally trows. He might be anuddeer criminal, you know, he wears dohs dreadlocks and stuff".

Running back who occasionally throws?

Hatchetman is correct, these have done a 180 on lovie pretty quickly...just like they did a 180 on cutler,quade....enough of hubs stupid soundbyte with Dan....

Mccaskeys did protect lovie for years, he should have been canned years ago...they allowed him yearly firings of all the turds he hired instead of firing his dumb ass.

"I don't read about hockey and I'm really interested in Matt Bowen" is like an encapsulation of the show.

People used to say this was the smartest Chicago sports radio show. A caller asked how they could know about analyzing two of the major sports in this city(You are welcome hockey fans, I'm trying to be more nice in the new year) and they said they couldn't tell him and they'd rather just listen to someone else talk.

They could at least have faked knowledge by saying don't watch the puck or ball.

It hasn't been the "smartshow" for at least a year.

berstein is acting like he's a member of the Bears inner circle. Maybe he should actually listen to what Big Chief McCaskey said. "Ted and I supported Phil's decision". That doesn't sound anything like "Phil is absolutely in charge, whatever he wants". And as soon as there is a decision they don't support, he won't be. I'm not sure why bernstein is taking this hard stance. It's making him look foolish.

By the way, there is a Jason Jackson, and the Bulls will see him Friday night in Miami. Jason's the sideline reporter for SUN Sports' coverage of the NBA Champion Miami Heat.
