I think Andy Reid should take a year off from coaching, especially in the wake of what he went through last year starting with the tragic death of his son at training camp and his Eagles having their worst season in his 14 year tenure. If he takes the Arizona Cardinals' job as rumored, he'll be reunited with QB Kevin Kolb. Needless to say, Kolb, like the other QBs on that roster are in the guys' words, bad at football.

berstein is acting like he's a member of the Bears inner circle. Maybe he should actually listen to what Big Chief McCaskey said. "Ted and I supported Phil's decision". That doesn't sound anything like "Phil is absolutely in charge, whatever he wants". And as soon as there is a decision they don't support, he won't be. I'm not sure why bernstein is taking this hard stance. It's making him look foolish.

Silvy - 1
Bernstein - 0

Peeps, I'm with you on this one. I'm going with Silvy's Bears "guy".

It was interesting to hear Maddux Boy struggle with how his own impression of the Emery press conference differed so much from Bernstein's that it must have been some communication breakdown between TV and radio rather than him actually disagreeing with Bernstein.

You could sense his mental struggle to understand what was happening.

B&B lack self awareness. B&B criticizing Lovie for being condescending? Not seconds after commenting on Lovie's lack of social graces, Bernstein lets out a groan when a caller just asks "how are you."

Maybe sportswriters are from an elite class and must be treated with total respect, while callers are just ignorant and must be put in their places.

They could at least have faked knowledge by saying don't watch the puck or ball.

It hasn't been the "smartshow" for at least a year.

I don't think it's ever been.

Last year B&B were firmly entrenched on the Matt Barkley bandwagon. Wouldn't stop chirping that they think he might be a better prospect than Andrew Luck. Whooooooosh

Hub was on with Randazzler yesterday and said he didn't really even watch the Emery press conference, saying that he already knew what Emery was going to say - so what was the point in listening/watching?

Now saying he's got the flu - which maybe he did - I just get the feeling he probably didn't want to talk about how great Emery is.

There's the over exaggerated laugh by Larry - right on cue.

By the way, I love Larry acting like he had his "battles" with Lovie over the years. Sorry, but Larry, you were about as significant a presence at Halas Hall and with Lovie Smith as a flea is on a buffalo's ass. Stop trying to pump up your status and ego by equating your experience as relevant to the conversation of Lovie's attitude.

This guy has the biggest self-esteem issues I've ever heard from someone on a radio station.

These guys are extremely high on their fake or bullcrap sources. Terry asked Dan if he had called his guy (Terry hadn't made the phone call yet to his guy) to see if Emery was focusing on one guy. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before Dan says that Emery likes one specific name but goes on to say, he may not hire this guy because he may like someone better.

I don't know if anyone has seen the recent Deadspin piece about Tom Corbett suing the NCAA but I'd have to imagine it's got the potential to tie Dan's underwear in knots.

On one hand Dan has (whether real or exaggerated) gone on record as hating the entire state of Pennsylvania so any attempt by a Pennsylvanian to help Penn State wriggle out from under "THE. PUNISHMENT. THEY. AGREED. TO. IN. JULY." is going to be viewed as the second worst thing on earth next to aiding and abetting child rape.

On the other hand the suit lays out pretty clearly how much of a joke the NCAA is and comes down hard on the culture of college football which Dan hates with only slightly less than child rape.

But than again who the fuck am I kidding. Even if he hadn't already backed himself into a rhetorical corner months ago Dan seems to only have two modes when discussing an issue: (1) "I have no idea why are you asking me;" (2) "your opinion is wrong."

I don't think it is. One 2000 yd season does not put him in Payton's class.

I think people forget just how dominate Payton was with some pretty crappy lines for the first few seasons of his career. And as pointed out Payton was a complete back. Peterson is not.

Again, it seems like you're trying to unnecessarily shit on AP to praise Payton. I think Payton is the best RB of all time. But don't act like AP is some flash in the pan like Chris Johnson. He's already among the all time greats at the position and has basically been the best RB in the league since his rookie year.
