No. He was using the scuffing argument to prove a point. The caller said he wouldn't let in a pitcher who scuffed the ball.

Another gem from Gottlieb in a hour...

By the way, with Gottlieb on assignment working the UNLV/New Mexico basketball game, there was a Roger Lodge sighting on my TV last night. Lodge, now morning man at Anaheim's KLAA-AM, was guest hosting Gottlieb's "Lead Off" on CBS Sports Network late last night. Gottlieb's co-host Allie LaForce...Nowhere to be found.

The next one had Gottlieb opining that Ray Lewis was incorrectly getting more attention after announcing his retirement than Tony Gonzalez who may or may not retire. His point was that Lewis was potentially the greatest ML or all time but Gonzalez was without question the best TE so he should be getting more hype. Maybe he would have had a point if TG had said he was done after the season but since he hasn't why should the media focus on him?
