A lot of people do drugs. Some go on to be great. Others don't. It's no different than the straight edge crowd. I only do the moral drugs and I'll never be great but there are other moral drug users who are doing great things.

I do think that mind altering substances help with true creative tasks like writing and singing. They don't really help in basketball or baseball.

The moral drugs???? It's too early in the morning for that type of trolling, you New York bastard!

If marijuana became legal tomorrow there would still be the exact same demand for virtually every pharmaceutical drug currently available. Marijuana is not a substitute for any of them.

Marijuana does have medical purposes but it's not like they are going to start giving marijuana to help people cope with their wisdom teeth being removed.

True. But you don't really strike me as a moral relativist. Even I would agree that certain things are simply wrong.

Wrong, I have gotten four people who were hooked on norcos (Vicodin) off them by replacing their 12-20 pills a day with medibles. No more getting dope sick n stuck in bed when they could not score pills.

You are a sharp dude, do some research on medicinal benefits of marijuana.

I never said what drugs are immoral, only that the drugs I do are moral.

That's pretty common with addiction though. People replace a worse addiction with something better. Some use food, or cigarettes, or marijuana.

I know it has medicinal benefits. I just don't know of any pill that it replaces. If anything, it works when nothing else works.

Well I just told you one, Vicodin ..which happens to be the most abused drug in the country...it is awful for the liver and highly addictive...you don't see the benefit of pain management in replacing a highly addictive heroin derivative
That is harmful n very addictive to a harmless cannabinoid? There are several strains that help with anxiety, another huge problem in this country with millions hooked on harmful benzos...I could keep going, but please just do a lil research.

You know what else is awful for the liver? Tylenol (acetaminophen). Its 100 times worse when you take that within 24 hours of having alcohol as well.

Vicodin abuse is bad, but for short term pain relief it's actually quite effective and more effective than marijuana. It's just not meant to be used for long periods of time and it's so effective that people use it recreationally.

Are you saying that with medical marijuana that doctors will stop prescribing the current pain management drugs post-surgery and will instead simply prescribe marijuana? I have seen nothing like that written before. The medical benefits for marijuana are never really about replacing a current drug, but filling a space in which current drugs are inadequate.

I could give you a Reese's cup, banana. Bread, Brownie whatever you prefer that will do the same thing a Vicodin. Or oxycontin. Can do..only not addictive, no withdrawal. .not tearing up liver n kidneys.

So if you broke your leg and were in excruciating pain you think that you'd feel just as good with a marijuana brownie as you would Vicodin? Why are doctors so stupid?

Tylenol does not even work. All these kids have had this shit drug poured down their throats since they were old enough not to spit it out. Case in point. My 17 year old daughter got dropped on her ass during cheerleading practice this fall. Sprained hip. Gave her Codene+ shitinol did nothing for the pain. I got in my medical bag and gave her two Bayer asprin. She did not know what they were other than pills. Asked her an hour later if she felt any relief. She said that was the best shit she ever and the pain was dramatically reduced. Itold her you just had two Bayer asprin. She said damn Dad why do they give us this stuff that does not work. Itold her it works cause the have shoved Tylenol down your mouth since you were born and you are immune too it. I really think this is the case.

Tylenol isn't really a pain killer, it's an NSAID and helps reduce inflammation and such.

Bayer is aspirin and kids (and I think into teens) aren't really suppose to have aspirin.

Nobody ainsered my question of why you do them.

Tylenol is advertised and marketed as a pain reducer. Ibuprophen (Advil Alieve etc) Inflamation reducers.

Children under age 16 or who have flu or chicken pox should not take aspirin. Hip pain OK for 17 year old girl. BTW my wife is an RN so she approves this message.

Well, acetaminophen sucks, it's advantage is that it won't cause stomach problems/heartburn etc. They are all NSAID's but have different core ingredients.

Ibuprofen, noproxen or a combo of the two usually does the trick for SomeGuy.

Right, but that's not what people have on hand or feel comfortable giving then. Think like a mom that's not an RN.

Because...I'm a responsible adult.

I have never taken a Vicodin. In my life, got prescribed hundreds from a back surgery....but most people who abuse them that get hooked started out taking them from a script for a legit injury.

If you have stomach problems you should not take any OTC meds at all unless you talk with a MD. I usually ask the boss and she tells me to drink an Alka Seltzer with or without scotch

When I snapped my lower leg in high school Joe Theismann-style, I had to wait a week for the surgery to take place. I was absolutely hooked on that morphine shot I would get every 4 hours. 3 1/2 hours from my last shot and I was jonesing big-time for the next one. Learned my lesson and never been a fan of opiates ever since.

Yup, highly addictive...really no different than heroin.

Actually opiates all act the same on the pleasure center of the brain. So does meth even though it is not classified in this way. So they all act in the same way. I did tons of blow and meth back in the late 80s and early 90s but the stuff I did I got from a guy that I trusted and knew he was not gonna kill me or give me bad stuff. He still lives and so do I. We both gave up the stuff and call each other now and then and reflect on our old evil days. I ask him every now and then if he would cook up a batch of the good shit again and he says we have better days to live for and to much to lose. He is correct.
