Dan must have just read the Steve Jobs biography.

I hope Trestman does 10 minutes on trying to get the organization back to where it was with Ditka.

Good chance he shows up for the presser in the vintage sweater.

Bill Belichek hasn't won a press conference in a decade. I think he's doing just fine.

Finji found some audio of Trestman talking up his players before the Grey Cup. He said, shit ya not, "Arrive at the moment you created." I think that was one of those seven-segmented banners on the wall of my 6th grade English classroom, beneath "Success comes in cans, not in cannots" and adjacent to "I don't give grades, you earn them."

For someone who frequently likes to ask "How does this get you closer to a championship?" Dan sure is making a big deal about a meet and greet.

I'm starting to think Bernstein is just as big of a meatball as those listeners he always belittles.

Dan has turned into the sports radio version of Kirby, where his special skills vary depending on who he has in his mouth.

This will be taped to each locker after a tough week six loss to Minnesota.

Very thorough, though I do think it was a little gratuitous to implore Trestman not to answer questions in French.

Thorough, yes, but was it necessary? Just like Dan asking the other day (regarding Oak interviewing Martz) "What are the Raiders doing? Have they not listened to our show the last two years?!?!?!" No, Dan, Raiders brass and their fans do not listen to your show.

This is kind of funny because a sure-fire way to "win the press conference" would be to say we plan to kick the Packers ass twice a year, run it down their throats, and make it known that Bears football will dominate like it did in the era of Ditka and Halas. That's the Chicago way and that's how you win a Super Bowl!!

Press conference is at 10, so there won't be an opportunity for B&B to riddle it with "oh, god" and "dumb" and "whaaat" and ohhhh yes, yes, that's right, yes, never mind.

They would never disrespect an Emery hire with the drop treatment. You should know that. Believe this coach. Believe this GM. Stand next to the podium. Arrive at the moment you created.

They have to ease into it. Coming from Lovie, if the players got somebody as fiery as, say, a Dick Jauron, the players may have had a stroke from shock.

  The fact that Dan's head would explode from such an occurance is all the more reason to root for that to happen.

I think Bernstein has had some serious CTE issue of late .... if Cowley had written that drivel, he'd have been chastised to the point he might have considered suicide.

My prediction is that he will sound just like Dick Jauron. In transition, Dan will say "I was wowed. He knocked it out of the park. He did everything right, he said all the right things. This is a football mind, not a football mime, but a football mind. It feels really good to know that Really Smart People are running the Bears." Then Mac or Spiegs will say "doesn't he remind you a little of Dick Jauron, though?" to which he'll reply "yeah, that was bad, wasn't it" or "No. This is different. He talked football stuff."

Wow. BernSTINE is actually serious with the column he wrote....and he is talking about it like he's some life coach or something. What a douche, I'm sure Coach Trestman is listening intently and taking notes.

10A...in Denver. They've moved up the press conference to 11A tomorrow morning, CH.

I love hearing Mac barely hold back chuckles as Bernstein espouses his knowledge of public perception to Trestman.

Why are they doing the presser in Denver?

I think we need to hear from Bernstein's PR guest today.

Quite frankly, I actually like this hire the more I hear & read about Marc Trestman. In fact, consider yourselves warned right now. Laurence Holmes sits in for Boers tomorrow & Friday, and I bet he'll force Bernstein to replay his chat with BTN's Russ Lande, also with the National Football Post from Holmes' own nighttime SCORE. Lande told Holmes that Trestman can turn Jay Cutler into an elite QB. He better.

Why? Think of how the league can pass coaches by over one or two years while they're coaching. Like Lovie and the Tampa 2, for example. Trestman's been out of the league altogether for eight. That's not good.
